For once an opinion of someone who has actually PLAYED THE GAME...
Bullocks:
-4player max?..it can be more(easely modded in) but current hardware will be to slow..
I predict the way hardware evolves we will see 8-12 people MP modes for Quake4(same engine)
-slowdowns at quakecon...
:o ooops i'm Belgian so my Dutch is alot better ;)
For an FPS game i think you don't need seperated ear damage and head damage, when will you be able to hit the ear when running around in a shooter game..look at some doom DM pics for ex. ... models are good but not so detailed you could...
good thinkin again :) if the bullit goes trought the ear the game could detect it ,but if the bullet traverses a way in the game like a real life object(bullets in doom3 are and have velocity) you should be able to let it penetrate the ear first and then hit the second deadly zone(for ex brain...
I thought they had that in doom3 too, this per poly hit detection coupled with sounds, but i'm not sure...would indeed be very cool... would be kind of a good idea when you are badly wounded that you like breathe much heavier and enemies can hear that when your closeby..but that's going very far...
Good thinking roach..then you have to define ears seperate and the rest is likely deadly..if your chin is bulletpearced you'll mostly blead to death i assume..oooh the horror we are talkin about here.
Ok for you grease monkey, blame nvidia and ati for renewing their cards every six months and asking ridiculous prices for hi-end cards that one year later are worth nothing anymore :) and it seems like having Internet is like life necessary these days, what about someone who really likes SP games...
Look those reply's really make me wanna pugue...sorry that i can't resist on replying..for the rest discussion is running farely well :)
Doom3 no modability ..and no physics lol..you can block elevator switches by moving stuff, move stuff to take cover ,move stuff into halways that it can...
Wright..i'd be dissapoinetd if it's CS2..i do not play CS..don't like the round waiting stuff..hoping on something from the HL universe too, a good theme based MP..an objective mode maybe where physics and moving vehiles come in..ok nothing new,but a lot newer then CS
Thx gabe you understand without some explenation..readin' between the lines i call that(but not analyzing text t'ill death)..

PS edit Id is just pushing the envelope within the possabilities of current hardware..they are nothing doing like rocket science(although carmack does...
To end this...i already said..don't take it to seriously..a game is just something i play to pass time when i'm alone... a game never will be as important as lifelike things..music comes 2nd and then film and then games..for me..now i said way more then i mostly do on forums..
the discussion...
so why all these efforts to quote me..relax man..i have no problem with most of you guys,i know the difference between gaming and having fun and reality.
Ok the most people are not hostile..but some are..but they are kids or narrow minded and i don't care...
about the games themselves i 'm...
OK this i posted on a doom3 forum in a simular vs tread..the hostilaty towards HL2 on the doomforum was way more in the minorety there compared to hostilty to doom3 here:
"After looking like 5 times at the DOOM3 E 2003 trailer i'm convinced it will have been worth waiting for ...i was already...
Only the models have more polys that's true..i was talking about environment...walls, buildings etc..characters indeed have more polygons, these are ID 's words..so it' the truth .. about 5000 (original from 1 000 000 poly characters)..but still ID stated that the engine could handle 10 enemies...
Doom3 has no more polys then the avrage Quake3 engine rendered scene....because of the bumpmapping tech..in quake3 you had to do it in full geometry... please read and inform before you post..
