I'm planning on being able to play it at 800 * 600 on at least Medium details on my 1.4ghz t-bird, 256mb DDR and a GF 4 ti 4200. I think I'll be quite alright. and next year I'll be doing myself up a brand new computer.

I've heard about the 64bit XP. I thought it was released ages ago? Anyone have any info, my next CPU will hopefully be of the AMD64 variety.

No idea, I've never really been serious about Linux gaming. And also the fact I have a Gefore 4 ti 4200, so I can't get first hand experince with ATi's linux drivers. Also most linux gamers use a geforce of some sort (although that's starting to change) so I guess that nvidias linux...

You could always switch to a unix/linux dist. :) If winex ran HL2 half decenlty(hehe), you may get some decent frames with 64bit compilation.

Is this a question or statement?? From benchmarks I have seen, a P4 3.0ghz and a 1.8ghz AMD64 go head to head. Each one wins different benchmarks. This is when NOT using 64bit instructions. So it's quite an achievement for a chip that is 1.2ghz 'slower' to keep up neck and neck. With...

Making programs to take advantage of 64bit cpus isn't that hard, so I don't see why any game from now on won't support them.

I like this 'new' HL2 gordon. He looks nerdish but at the same time he has a bit of style. I swear those kind of glasses will come back into fashion one day :P
