Took me around 5 minutes to figure the exploit myself by just seeing a heavy in spawn shooting at the wall.
does take quite some time to setup though, and it needs concentration or you'll lose the effect again.
Hmm, i'm using Windows XP 64-bit edition, but it didn't download that file with Vista 64-bit either.
Edit: Out of curiosity are you running an AMD or an Intel CPU?
First of this has nothing to do with color depth, 64-Bit Windows doesn't support a higher color depth, and nor does it need to.
There are pratical applications to having a 64-bit operating system, and they increase by having binaries that actually support it, infact i'm pretty sure that Team...
Same here, so i'm going to redownload HL2 to check if it packs me with the 64-bit binaries instead.
Edit: Just tried deleting all the binaries gcf's still 32-bit hl2.exe's when the game is redownloaded.
Just saw this picture over at Rock, Paper, Shotgun, and i must say those new effects make the npc's look a LOT more realistic.

Must admit though i did also have some nausea doing HL2 gameplay with the vehicle and the airboat, but nothing compared to TF2 with 90 degree fov.
i don't see why there shouldn't be HL2/Episode One updaes, as far as i understood it's compatible contentwise, wouldn't make sense if it weren't anyways.
When have they stated this? I find it mighty suspicious that they have "source 2007" gcf's now with hl2 material in it, and since it's not the xbox they're developing for content should be compatible.
Yeah, for pretty much 15$ extra you get:
*Source(HL2/Episode 1) updates with hdr maps and achievements.
* Episode 2, which can approach the average gameplay time excluding achievements and replay on some newer titles, Medal of Honor: Airborne and Bioshock comes to mind.
* Portal, which...
