ha...good ol' fox...
they just had a "call-in" segment on their morning show. the callers were supposed to grade bush's speech of last night. all 3 callers were women.
the first caller gave bush's speech an "A+" and the way she put things, she might as well have just been reading...
well i hope you guys do well...though i would bet you're not the only ones working on something like that...hopefully enough talented people will work on a mod like this (junked or otherwise) so we can all have fun doing some zany stuff
picture a mod where you have a "builder" class and each team starts on an island with a whole bunch of junk...barrels, pallets, metal slabs, girders, etc...and a few vehicles...
everyone works together with manipulators and the weld guns to build armored vehicles and bridges and forts and...
you would disable the onboard video in the bios somewhere. hopefully you don't have some crap compaq that doesn't let you disable the onboard video/sound. my girlfriend's computer was like that...it wouldn't even recognize non-compaq ram.
and all OEM means is that you just get the card...
ha...i've probably posted about 5 times in the last month...i only have occasional non-dial-up access right now and i don't have the patience to do anything but check my email on dial-up *shudder*
anyway definitely read charlie wilson's war...it's a very easy read and there are some...
actually, although the CIA's efforts in Afghanistan did support anyone who would fight the Soviets, Bin Laden actually refused to be given anything by the CIA. He didn't want any support from the US. If he got any weapons from the West, he bought them with his own family's money.
Bin Laden...
Well if this technology is for real...and it works...and it leads to advanced transportation and/or power sources, then it had better not generate much waste heat. Too much waste heat will totally screw Earth's heat balance.
If everyone in the world generated as much waste heat from...

i've never taken an iq test that wasn't timed...i could sit there for an hour and figure every question out and get 100%...but that wouldn't be the same as someone who got all the right answers in 5 mins...that's why all real iq tests are timed...and even then they...
i fully understand your explanation, kyle, but i don't understand how that example proved innervision wrong.
how does the "infinite number of numbers between 14 and 15" example prove that wrong? that was my question.
innervision was saying that because you started counting, your number...
yeah...getting the deluxe version of the mobo for good sound just has no point...if you're at a LAN, you're going to be using headphones...so any ol' onboard sound will be totally fine.
looks like a good system...until you go to a LAN this fall and everyone's playing Far Cry, doom3, hl2...
definitely worth trying since they've added so much since the end of the beta...i might check that out myself...
though at the end of the beta, it wasn't worth paying for by any stretch of the imaginiation. if it was free (or cheap with no subscription fee) i would've played it a lot...it...
urbanleg...i don't understand what you're trying to say.
of course out of all the infinite numbers between 14 and 15 there is a middle point...what does that have to do with anything, and how does it prove innervision wrong?
see...by saying that there are an infinite number of 9's, it equals 1. you're basically saying that you "hit it" because the 9's never stop. the instant there is a finite number of 9's following the decimal, it is no longer equal to one.
YESSSS...INFINITE COOKIES
.9 (repeating) is equal to one...though saying it doesn't really do justice to the concepts behind it...i re-read my notes and i'm correcting myself...
the very concept of infinity in this case proves it....an infinite number of 9's are being added to the original...
