Kinda similar to this, but instead of an enforced matchmaking experience, what about an in-chat or in-group option for Steam users that allows you to form a L4D party.
E.g. #1
You're in a group chatroom on Steam. You click the chatroom menu and select:
>>> Look for players for game >> Left...
Why are the minimum requirements for both games not identical, then?
I am also interested to see some screenshots, but I'd be more interested in hearing how a single-core at the bottom end of the scale (perhaps even below 3.0GHz) handles L4D, if at all.
For the SVN Nuclear Dawn uses Multiplay.co.uk, who provide free hosting for projects/clans on the proviso they get quarterly progress updates and that you put their brand in a good light.
I'm sure there must be hosting under similar conditions in North America, what about Nuclear Fallout?
Very strange move. I see half of the logic, but then I see gaping holes. With no way to choose what server you're joining, how can L4D be formed? You may get popular servers, but the chances of seeing the same players day in, day out on those servers is much reduced because everyone wants to be...
I wonder if these will be persistent stats. It's quite possible, and it makes a lot of sense to test for bad stats as well as good stats to show up the 'bad' or unhelpful team players.
However, just how persistent are they? Are they calculated constantly, or only tallied up at the end of a...
I too have another for the list:
Server name TheO.C. TF2 Cartoon Carnage
Website? none I know of
Location Europe, UK
IP Address 212.187.246.222:27015
Maximum player slots 25 (possibly 24 with an admin slot)
Custom settings? Mapvoting, HLSTATSX, a few carefully chosen custom maps such as...
"RPS Versus mode impressions"
Perhaps consider re-naming the thread so readers can actually tell which game the title is referring to. You'd be forgiven for thinking RPS was a game you didn't care about, when in fact this is a hands-on scoop of the relatively-unseen infected-versus-survivors...
This video streaming is hideous (for this UK user on a faultless 10Mbit -7Mbit actual- connection).
So choppy I almost didn't want to buy the game. Then I remembered it was Left 4 Dead I was seeing. [/dramatics]
I might have to join you. I'm currently looking into the relative merits of getting a 360 for Left 4 Dead versus upgrading my PC from the motherboard up to play it on the PC.
I played L4D on the 360 and I thought it was great, even for a console version (and FYI I despise Halo 3 on the 360)...
Total rubbish.
On lowest settings his setup will run TF2 fine. The game should run at a better framerate than he's getting. I ran TF2 on 1 GB RAM for ages and never had any major problems, because I had all the gfx settings at lowest. My brother has the same GFX card and has never experienced...
As someone mentioned, although there are lots of zombies to deal with, they don't take more than a single shotgun hit or a couple of rounds from your pistols or rifle to take down. The most dangerous thing about them is their speed, so it's really about making sure your team is looking out for...
If you have some working examples of work you made for the mod, chances are good for securing a position, but not high.
If you have completed work on a mod, including multiple releases, chances are high. From what I understand, it's one thing to program a feature, it's quite another to have...
(I said in another thread I'd go into a bit more detail, so here's a bit of an account of what it's like to play. Anyone else who's played it feel free to share your experiences. I'm mainly compelled to write this because before I was extremely hesitant about buying this. Now there is really no...
