Ahh, that's the flash utility. I'm afraid I skipped past the last part of your post. If you've got the A7N266-C then you'll want this file:
(I grabbed it and stuck it on my server because the Asus site is generally a pain.)

Also, because of the...
Chu: The updated bios should come in a zip file that has a .ROM file in it. Normally it's some big funky name that doesn't make any sense. the .ROM file IS the bios update. So copy that to a disk, reboot hit F11 and type in a:/filename.rom (whatever the name of the file is.) And ROM stands for...
If it really is generic XP should have the drivers for it. (I wouldn't reccomend using the generic "Generic Ethernet Adapter" drivers just because it's messy.) The most common are realtek and netgear so if it's either of those finding the drivers will be a snap. I'll search around and see if I...
Alrighty, at this point I'd say it's probably gone bad for some reason. Either that or theres a setting in BIOS that isn't right but I can't think of any setting that would cause a device to not start. (If it's disabled in BIOS it shouldn't be detected at all.) Do you know what the cable guy did...
That's extremely peculiar. But I now know what the problem is.. you don't have a network card. At least windows isn't recognizing it. I'd go into control panel and "add new hardware" let it scan and see if it picks up an ethernet adapter. If it does see if it finds the drivers, If it doesn't...
So when you've got the ethernet cord going from the cable modem directly to the PC nothing shows up in msdos? (when you run ipconfig)
It should show something even if it's just 0.0.0.0
If it is showing just zero's and the cable is hooked directly into the modem (skipping the router) then...
It could be a couple of things, first I'd say check to make sure you're using DHCP rather than a static ip address (for your computer, not the router) Also make sure you've got the cable from the modem going into the WAN port on the router.
If you're using DHCP and the cables going to the WAN...
I think En Esch once said in an interview his favorite was (he said it in german, I only remember the translation) "The cow stands in fear of the milkmaids cold hands".
Hello all, I'm thinking about re-launching my site and doing various things with it. I was wondering what you guys think of the current design which can be seen here:
http://www.focuslost.com/new_testing/
Once I've got all the code up it'll have various schemes but with the same layout. Any...
If you do all of that and it still doesn't work you can try killing the various things you have in the background, just in case something is causing a conflict. I've also seen spyware/viruses that can cause that sort of thing to happen so you could grab Adaware/Spybot and a virus utility and...
If you're wondering about the physical setup of the drives you've basically got to do this:
Take both the drives out of the carriers.
Change the jumper on both drives, one to master one to slave. Make the one you want to be the main drive master and the second one slave. (The jumpers are...
I don't know if the xerox one is but the frontpage directory probably is. What VBN suggested will probably work as well but to remove a directory use rmdir. (So rmdir xerox should remove the xerox directory.)
edit: The filenames are probably too long, you can do what VBN said or you can try...
If you're not comfortable building your own just give me an idea what you're looking for and I'll let you know if I can come up with anything. (I quasi work at a computer shop over here in Washington)
Edit: I know I can come up with something for less than that, it's just a question of what...
This one looks like it might be useful:

Feel free to PM or email me if you have any questions. ([email protected])
And to see what's in your computer (this varies a bit between windows versions but you should be able to figure it out.)
Right click on "My Computer" and go to Properties
Look for a "hardware" or "device manager" tab.
If you have a hardware tab look for device manager in there, if not...
