When i just started steam, it went back from 100% to 88%.... does this mean a new preload is here? is anybody else having this ? so far it 's happened to 2 pc's here.
I remember back in the glory days of DOS (sigh...memories) i was playing the game Rise Of The Triad. Enemies could be really tricky bastards because when hurt badly they would beg for their lives, eventually play dead, and when you turned your back on them, get up and shoot you in the back :D oh...
who cares it rhymes, i didn't see you do that. :P

Half-life 2,
i need you.
To experience once more,
the gamplay i adore.
Immerse me one more time,
before I commit a serious crime :cheese:
ofcourse i'm just kid...
There once was this popular game,
which name was surrounded by fame.
But then it got leaked, and *delayed* so to speak,
but who cares, it's gone gold anyway! :D
Half-life2 to me looks better than anything i've ever seen, especially the characters (did anybody check those 3 screenshots at the main page? *drool*).
This game is anything but dated, it was just waaayyyyy before it's time when it was shown at E3.
And furthermore, it's not just graphics...
Sorry to start a thread about this but i can't seem to find an answer anywhere :)

What was said in the opening post isn't true at all - last years systems (or even a year before that) will be able to handle hl2 at medium to high detail just fine....
i bought my system june last year:
- XP 2600+
- 1024MB DDR
- 120Gb HDD
- Audigy2
- Radeon 9800 Pro (yes it was expensive...
i've e-mailed this same question to gabe about a year ago... (it's still in the "info you've recieved from valve" thread but i'm to lazy to look it up :P)
I asked him if steam was absolutely neccesary to play hl2 and what if i don't have an internet connection at that time?
He replied...
half-life really was a gameplay revolution in it's time! i mean the best game at that moment (released around the same time i believe) was SiN. Well i don't know but half-life lasted much longer, was more fun and it just kicked (and still kicks) ass!
I especially liked HL deathmatch. the entire...
