I guess I'm the only person who hates them, then?
The game should be about skill, not some random chance of getting super-high damage for a shot (or giving more of them to people already doing well)
I didn't think the game was an mmo :(
Hrm, at least give us the choice, eh?
TFC with FF on was an aquired taste, but it was quite fun if you played with the right crowd.
This "its not how we want it so you cant have it" makes me worry that we will never get the option to disable respawn timers :(
Yeah. It was actually the Valve guys doing it though, and Robin Walker was explaining it to the reporter playing the game. Seems like they intend for it to happen, or at least know about it and will make a decision after some more playtesting.
Latest PC Zone arrived this morning with their hands-on impression of the game. It dosent mention many of the things the german mag has, but it does expand on some of the things (like the control point thing) and has pictures of the new Dustbowl (which looks awesome)
The medic invincibility...
I always loved going Engie and sticking SG's in places that no-one else dared to try.
Say for example Crossover2. Everyone has stuck a SG on the roof of their own base, and even sometimes gotten one up on the roof of the enemy base. Even getting one up in the rafters above the upper spawn is...
Plenty of bits in the game were cut, including the borealis (a ship to take you to the air exchanger)
Originally the coast run took you to a train depot, then onto the air exchange (nova prospekt) then back in a c-130 to city 17.
Pretty simple way to spawn striders so they dont get lost in the floor.
give npc_strider
voilla!
Should work with the gunship etc. but Ive not tried.
edit: oh yeah, they spawn directly above you, so god mode is a must if you dont want to be impailed.
My cd does pretty much the same thing, I think its because it has some broken cd-text on it. Had to rip the entire cd in iTunes, as playing it reset my computer. Plays fine in my hi-fi, but that supports cd-text :/
