    Zero Punctuation: Tomb Raider Underworld

Yup, it was a funny one. Admittedly, nothing could ever match the comic brilliance of "Dog Dungeon", but I still laughed a lot. I think he's been building up surplus spleen, against this franchise in particular, for a while now. And I agree with him that, as game protagonists go, Lara...

Games you wish you hadn't bought

On PC, it would have to be a mid-90s WWII fighter sim called Pacific Strike. What a dog that was. So little care went into implementing the feature that allowed you to pilot Japanese fighter planes that if you looked out of the cockpit of your Zero, you would see American markings on the wing...

    Zero Punctuation: Left 4 Dead

OK, not the funniest ZP on record, but much was forgiven when I saw Yahtzee's hat on the "crappy zombie."

Your favourite game of the year?

Hmmm, well, I'll have to play more FO3 and L4D before I can try to make a final call, but so far it'd be GTA4. Let me first say that it's a game about which I'm deeply ambivalent--largely because I was foolish enough to attempt 100% completion, and utterly sickened myself of the gameworld...

    Woman's scream in Ravenholm

You know Gammy Goose's Half-Life commentary on Youtube. Well, during the section on Ravenholm (titiled "Dark Night of the Soul"), the scream can be heard in the background during the Father Grigory speech montage. I'll send a link with the exact time when I get home from work. EDIT: Here...

Zero Punctuation: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

Hmmm, I would have liked to hear his take on the 360 or PS3 version. He seemed to be hinting that he liked the look of the latter, but I'm sure he'd have found something to hate.

    Your Best Kill

Last ime I played through Exit 17, I was going for the One Free Bullet achievement and couldn't use my firearms. I was standing near the door from which Barney sends the citizen to be escorted and started taking fire from a Combine soldier standing over near the building you come out of at the...

Star Wars The Force Unleashed GT Review

Finished playing it last night. For story, art direction, along with uneven but occasionally inspired gameplay, I'll give it a 7/10. Actually, I'll bump it to 7.5 for the inclusion of a Wilhelm Scream. All in all, nothing too amazing. My biggest complaint is all the crappy QTE action. The...

Will Fallout 3 revive the lost art of gibbing?

In a WWII game? How unbelievably tatseless.

Will Fallout 3 revive the lost art of gibbing?

True dat. I neglected to consider TF2 because I'm not on XBL and have never played it, despite my ownership and love of The Orange Box. I also agree with smwScott that gibbing is better suited to the likes of TF2 than to more realistic fare.

Will Fallout 3 revive the lost art of gibbing?

Seen this yet? http://www.gametrailers.com/player/usermovies/264524.html That one bit with the guy losing his legs genuinely shocked me.

Will Fallout 3 revive the lost art of gibbing?

As I look at the small collection of recent tripple A games lined up on my bookshelf, I can't help but be struck by the fact that none of them feature gruesome dismemberments and decapitation as their recent ancetors did. Think about it: where the original Half-Life offered a messy gibbing...

    Zero Punctuation: Too Human

I think he might rip Force Unleashed a new one too, as I hear it's pretty buggy.

    Gordon's Best Game day

You know how HL2 presents three dinstinct days in Gordon's life? The episodes each present a single day, beginning in the morning and ending in the evening. I was just suggesting that Gordon's exploits be evaluated in terms of the "days" in the seires, rather than by episode or level. Bad...

    Gordon's Best Game day

OK, I know I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel for a thread idea here, but a recent thread comparing HL2 to Ep. 2 in terms of quality got me thinking: why not consider Gordon's exploits in terms of days spent in-game rather than episodes or chapters? I think the day featured in Ep. 2 is by...

Quality wise - As good as HL2?

Ep2 was the most perfect, even if it wasn't quite as deep as HL2. Ep 1 is right out of the running for its disastrous final chapter. I still can't believe that after the brilliance of the game's entire first half, they managed to shit the bed so completely at the end. Playing through Ep. 2...

    Favorite minor character

I totally didn't notice that. I should really replay Ep. 2 soon. Personally, I liked the guys who fixed up your car prior to the autogun sequence. They gave me the impression of being stuck out in the sticks, facing dire odds, and having nothing better to do with their free time than drink...

New PurePwnage parodies Zero Punctuation - Hilarity Ensues

Well, being a pissed-off grouch is a big part of his schtick, isn't it? While I admit that the early ZPs were funnier than recent ones, I find there are still more laughs in 4 minutes of Yahtzee than in an entire 2 hour Owen Wilson comedy.

    Zero Punctuation: Soul Caliber IV

I'm having a blast with SC 4, particularly the character creation feature. Totally addictive and as close to a sandbox feature as a fighting game will probably ever come. That said, the game almost seems custom designed to be hated by Yahtzee. It's an extremely Japanese fighting game with...
