Hard to say. Surely they would have thought of such things, but you never know. Maybe the second quest features supremely powerful enemies. The Zelda and Dragon Warrior references are all over the place and I am so thankful. This will be totally fun.In the third of the three videos VictimOfScience posted, do you think the sword could get any larger? Any worries that it might make the combat a bit too easy?
Sony's Twitter said:No need to import - 3D Dot Game Heroes for PS3 is DEFINITELY coming to NA! Spread the word, more to come.
Another action rpg from FromSoftware
3D Dot Game Heroes (8/8/7/7, 30 points): Famitsu's review of From Software's silly retro-RPG romp is about what you'd expect. "The gameplay and so on is one enormous homage to Zelda and there are references to NES games everywhere, making this a nostalgia-laden trip," one reviewer wrote. "The graphics and blocky animations are very pretty, fusing old with new seamlessly, but the game itself is, for better or for worse, pretty orthodox."
Your opinion of the game will likely depend on your age more than anything else, the way Famitsu sees it. "The sheer amount of ripoffs...er, homages to other games is enough to put a smile on the face of any thirtysomething gamer," as one put it. "It's a well-made title and fun in its own right, but if you try to evaluate this as a new and original game, then you can't help but start to have doubts."
I cannot wait to get more details on the NA version!!
IRVINE, CALIFORNIA -- NOVEMBER 17, 2009 -- Atlus U.S.A., Inc. today revealed that it has licensed the rights to your childhood memories. Pixels rule again in the ultimate retro action-adventure game 3D Dot Game Heroes™ for PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, slated to land in North America on May 11, 2010.
Anyone who take Famitsu's reviews seriosly these days needs a reality-check, no offense.Famitsu Review Bits (via 1up):
Sounds like exactly what I wanted. I don't buy a title like this because it adds crazy new gameplay elements and pushes the envelope. I buy it because it looks brilliant and plays exactly as I would imagine a 2D NES-style game would in 3D. Duh!!
None taken. You are quite right that their reviews are absolutely ridiculous and laughable in many cases. Still the commentary about the game is worth considering and from everything that I have seen and read the game sounds absolutely brilliant in every way. I cannot wait to see if it is true.Anyone who take Famitsu's reviews seriosly these days needs a reality-check, no offense!
*raises hand*It's a fun game. But NOT THAT great. The gameplay does grow old on you, unless you are a huge, huge old school zelda-like gameplay fan
Contra, Super Mario Bros, Mother****in' Pong*raises hand*
Seriously, I am not sure if a more perfect game has been made than A Link to the Past.
You mean how the sword seems to "pop" into a giant blade when you attack? I thought maybe it was related to the power of your attack, but I guess what you're saying is that it's purely visual. In which case, that is awesome. Before I played, I worried the massive sword would make things too easy, but hasn't been the case so far.
