The 9-year-old was being kept a prisoner in a bedroom by his stepmother, Jaime Day. The door was tied with a dog leash so it couldn't be opened. Inside the cops found the boy, weighing just 38 pounds, lying on dirty foam atop a box spring covered in blood and urine.

He said Jaime Day refused to feed him, instead forcing him to watch as the rest of the family -- including two boy ages 4 and 6 -- ate in front of him. At times he became so hungry and thirsty that he drank his own urine and ate his own feces to survive.

He was also tortured. Jaime Day set a sock filled with rice on his back, then heated it up, causing the boy second-degree burns.

I feel so bad for kids and even animals who have to go through life with this kind of neglect and abuse. Can only hope for their life from the point of their discovery to be filled with love in a family that actually cares for them.

Most people talk about miserable lives and bad childhoods and stuff... but none of that stuff ever compares to only knowing torture and hunger to the point of near starvation.

I just hope it doesn't scar him for life and causes him trouble as an adult.

I don't think its a thought at all, its more of an impulse.

I get impulses to smash some random things, choke a bitch, but I restrain myself, but the temptation is still there, similar to an alcoholic need for a drink, they cant have one drink to be happy, they want the whole pack of booze and then more to keep.

She's not evil, she doesn't enjoy it in the way you think of enjoyment. It's more like an impulse. She almost can't help it.

She's sick - got some mental problems, and needs to be kept from children and pets. Basically: a sadist.
