i'll make a few concessions here, bush may have had some good motives for going into iraq, but i believe he also did it for the wrong reasons to. The thing that gets me is, no pro bushie would say he did anything ANYTHING wrong, or at least i've yet to see it. Why be so defensive?

I have a list of things I don't particularly like about Bush:

- Large tax cuts for the rich
- Only token efforts on affirmative action
- Ambivalent on global trade policies

But I will still be voting for him this year

My father used to work for Halliburton. There are vast fields of capped oil wells here(Texas). They were capped off during the 80's because they weren't churnning out 500 barrels a day, per well. Think 500X90,000. We have plenty of oil to last for another decade or two...And, that is this one state alone. Anyway, once the Middle East is out of oil, we'll be okay. As I was telling people in the other political thread. I think one thing on the agenda is keeping our resources, while buying resources from other countries. Once they've ran out, we'll not only be safe, but even be damn near controlling the oil market.

Innervision, you're wrong. I'm quite sure there were hidden motives in Bush's reasons for the war. As to whether or not they were the only ones is another thing.
I think oil did play a role, but not the only one. Don't try and catagorize us as mindless animals. Please?

I've stated before that I think Bush had some improper motives, but that the outcome of the war over-powered those reasons. That's what I meant by wrong. Not all of us agree 100% with Bush.

I don't like:
He's done nothing about Affirmative Action. (Reverse Discrimination) To prove just how bad Affirmative Action really is, my Black and Mexican friends are agaisnt it. They find it an insulting hand-out, and that it's racism by democrats who think they aren't smart enough to make it one their own.

He's talking about allowing illegal immigrants in through the Mexican Border.

And there are some other things... I'm getting a bit cloudy right now because I'm about to leave.

obviously, no one considered rusty left-overs from the i-i war to be the impending doom that would befall the whole world in about 45 minutes. aren't those the fanciful weapons that the more impulsive people where so concerned about when the case was made for this war? you can shoot mortar shells over the atlantic right??

hey a nuke on a camels back isnt rly a threat, but u know its still a WMD. a gass mortar can kill sections of a village. one bullet can only kill one person (unless it goes through and hits someone else [rare]). seems that liberals cant decide what a WMD, its not gass, its not powder. thier looking for a nuke.
