one of my most anticipated games ..it's a single player/mmo hybrid that centers around the robert e howard version of conan ..I've read every single REH book and from what I've learned of the game the developers are very closely sticking to his version rather then the somewhat dreadful conan movies. This is exactly what the fantasy genre needs ..to get away from the pristine, somewhat immature worlds of D & D and LoTR with a more mature universe grounded in realistic motivations, characters and settings

meh, I used to think I'd love those games, then I played Marrowind..and those types of games bored me ever since.

ya but this is online like WoW except the combat is real time like in Oblivion plus there's player controlled bots for attacking cities using real seige engines horses, elephants etc to lay seige to a player controlled city

I'll spend the majority of the time soloing going oooh and ahhh as I recognize things from the conan universe

it is about Conan; he's King of Aquilonia, one of the quests is to meet him ..you dont play as Conan but as one of 3 races in the world of Conan: Cimmerian, Aquilonian, and Stygian

I only play free MMORPGs (there is a fecking lot of them, though) in which they only have in-game advertisements (like a in-game billboard) and cash items.

So, I probably won't be playing it.

I am pretty sad about this one actually. I love Conan but hate MMORPGs. I haven't played a good Conan game since Conan: The Cimmerian for the Amiga. Guess I'll have to keep waiting :-(

Look okay though. Maybe if it turns out to be something really amazing, I'll check it out....

I've read every last Robert E Howard book and know the stories inside and out ..so do the developers ..they refuse to dumb it down for casual fantasy gamers and promised to keep it very faithful to the Howard vision of Conan ..that's good enough for me

just do what I do ..buy the game and buy game cards when you feel like playing again ..I bought 2 WoW cards last year and I'm on my first of this year..NCIX sometimes have the 60 day cards on sale for $29.99 canadian ..just stock up when they go on sale (no pst and shipping is next to nothing)

what other MMO's in development are coming out this year? I cant think of any that pique my interest ..I thought I'd be more excited by D&D but it doesnt seem that exciting or promising

ya but the sp only lasts till level 20 then you take it online ..that's when you meet Conan

ya looks interesting ..although I'm not all that fond of the lotr universe ...hobbits are just vile little creatures

thanks for the link I'll rifle through it ..btw is this more of an instance game with parties like D&D or open ended like WoW? I tend to solo more than anything else

They look almost identical to the Chronnicles of riddick game, just god awful/boxy looking characters with a normal map. Give me DOD:S/CS:S/HL2/HL2:LC models anyday compared to these crappy models.

..but this is an online game like WoW ..with hundreds of people online at any given time ...surely you cant expect HL2 style graphics in a mmog
