Alright, a bunch of iraqis os caught stealing some wood. The soldiers decides to teach them a lesson and completly smashes their car.

Naw, don't get this thread closed. Keep it civil and watch these guys attempt at stopping the criminals in iraq.

There's NO blood in this one, so everyone can safely watch it without losing their stomach's contents...

that's punishment for looting? what do you get for murder? the tank runs over your entire family?

it's more than a little excessive...if you were living at the brink of starvation you'd be looting too

And you REALLY know the backstory to what happened, I suppose? Like, the people's lives, and why they looted.. etc

As far as you know, they were wanted criminals and had been stealing and looting up the wazoo
 
If I were there, I'd loot like mad.. The Americans are carelessy punishing and torturing people there.. Just like they did back in Vietnam..

clever. they left the wood on the top of the car.

a lot of things in that video don't add up. the iraqi's couldn't understand the soldiers? ok fair point. but then, the iraqi man could inform the camera crew that he was a taxi driver. that implies someone there speaks the language. bullseye again, another piece of bullshit. of course, when the soldier says 'they don't understand' he might be implying that they don't understand the concept, as opposed to any language barriers, but i'm guessing it's the language barrier.

and as far as you know they could have all been doctors and religious people stealing wood for fuel...or families needing wood to cook...you dont know either, you're just speculating they are criminals...as are the soldiers in the video...what's looting to some people is survival to others
 
My guess is that whoever made the documentary was just going melodramatic on us, showing how cruel these GIs are...

George Bush started all of this , the oil grubbin wacko. Im not impressed and Ive met some nice american's before :) , but I thought Bush's army was there to help the people , I guess the soldiers are really bitter , but thats no excuse :(

no ones bashing US soldiers, but I get a sense Americans have closed eyes to the fact that US army are not exactley playing it clean themselves, probably because , its slightly embarassing ,.. as they are supposed to be piece keepers aswell as a supressing force representing the USA .

iraqi's killing people for kicks? far more iraqi's were killed by coalition bombs than by terrorist bombs...

Sorry, but I am SICK of this attitude towards the Iraqi people. REALLY REALLY FED UP WITH IT.


The Iraqi people for the most part are peacefull and dont go out attacking people. So DO NOT use the few that are imbasiles as an excuse for what our troops are doing. Thats like saying because a few maniacs in the USA kill people for kicks we should punish ordinary people or petty theives.





Not please please PLEASE try and get out of this concept that all Iraqis are terrorists or guys with AK47s ready to shoot your fellow countrymen. It really pisses me off!




(Note I am not saying that what the guys in the vid did was wrong or right. We cant know for sure. I am merlly trying to point out that it is just plain wrong to steriotype all the iraqi people as people against the liberation of their country.)

I know theres no right, but the US and the UN have expectations of delivery of peace. and that makes all the diffrence, also the fact that we are invading there country, its not on home soil.

Let's see, what do you do with wood? Well, you burn it to keep warm, you burn it to cook food, or can you build something with it. Those Iraqis were obviously not going to try and hurt anyone with their stolen wood. The probably just wanted to build a shelter after the US destroyed their house.

This video makes me ill.

I found something pretty funny while reading this thread. How come, everyone says stop bashing on all of the iraqis becuase not all of them are terroist that have AK's and killl anyone in there sight, yet, all you all just keep saying how bad the US soldiers by, by just looking at the videos/images of these soldiers doing this. Not all US Soldiers are like the ones in the images/videos just like not all Iraqis are terroist.

Indeed... This reminds me of another video with Norweigan soldiers shooting dogs in Kosovo for fun. That video pissed me off SO much more than this one. One dog ran over to the soldier to play and he shot the poor thing through the skull. Goddamnit!
 
Yeah...shame they all happen to be human. We are a lot more similar than most like to think...even you and me.

The problem with all this debating is that we are basing out opinions of the opinions of others. Perhaps we have seen videos, but the footage we see has already been through the bias of someone else.

The US army is suppost to be a proffesional army. And for the most part it is obviously. But they should not be alowed to do stuff like this.

You can not compare the two. The terrorists are terrorists and the US army are doing a job. And in this case they appear to be doing it in about the worst possible way.
