A dedicated HL2 fanboy cannot buy D3 because he has to choose a 'side' (in an imaginary war).
 
I just spend $12,000 on computer components for a magazine to perform benchmarks. If they ask me to buy the game too, I just might kill them :)....then again it has benefits, I get all the money back when my article and benchmarks are done lol.
 
of course I will buy it! been waiting for many years now...
 
Early as i can the day it comes out ill be buying this. That means i can spend most of the day playing before it gets nighttime :hmph: :dozey:

Edit/ I think everyone saying "No" will go out and buy it anyway, they are just the people that are always in poll threads that have to disagree and always say the less obvious answer to be "different". Id be surprised it any FPS fan let doom3 slip by without even having a taste of it, i mean afterall its DOOM FFS!.
 
I'm gonna get it on the PC and the Xbox. The uber gfx the pc version offers vs co-op play with a mate. Close call :)
 
You know, originally I wasn't going to buy it. Just not sure I want to spend $50+ on a game where I'm not sure if there's just more than killing things and pretty graphics.

But, I was an adult when Wolfenstein and DOOM were first introduced and I just don't think I can pass on the next generation. Plus, have to say it's grown on me over the last year, and with no real news of when HL2 is going to be around I need something to do and I couldn't ask for a bigger game right now while waiting.
 
Does it? I suggest you qualify that statement before I delete it as flamebait.
 
I'll buy it when it's a bit cheaper...so yes. Half-life 2 I will buy immediately.
 
I may buy doom ...I'm undecided. It may look nice but there is little replay value, ho-hum multiplayer and a cliche plot. Depending on user reviews I may pick it up cuz I need something to tie me over till HL2. IMHO I think most people will play D3 once through and then it will sit on their shelves collecting dust. If I had a choice between D3 Stalker, MoH Pacific assualt, D3 would be my last choice.

But I'm with cybernoid, as i havent followed d3 in the slightest, so when i get it i should be 100% in surprise for whatever is to come.
 
i will NOT buy the game :)

i just personally hate the style of it. cant see the pount of horror and arcade shooting. seems kindonf bland with big guns and good graphics.
 
I will most definitely get it... multiplayer is gonna rock. :)
 
suicide i felt the same way. but something tells me id like to get the shit scared out of me with beautiful graphics.
 
I'm gonna buy it cause the plot sounds like my kinda thing. The game looks really polished from the screens. And its gonna be out before HL2.

Nah nevermind I just figured if I stopped spending money on stupid things like clothes I can upgrade my pc once every two months. And I'd get to play D3 naked!

doom3 has a REMADE VERSION OF EDGE. EDGE = best multiplayer map ever which was in quake2.

Well I dont want Doom 3 and im not crazy about half life 2, If i could have Doom 3 for free then id play it ( as in borrowing it off someone) but I hate doom's style kill the monsters, get bored uninstall. Half life 2 will be much better then doom but i prefere things like Final fantasy and metal gear solid

If I choose to buy doom III, I know that it will cause me to want to upgrade to the w00test computer on the market and I will end up spending thousands of dollars just to see that sweet eye candy.
 
I never got a chance to play any Doom multiplayer, too young at the time. like 7 or 8. I heard that the game only comes with 5 multiplayer maps :(
This makes Sparta sad :(

Guinny, you got it from gamestop right? They have a coupon code there that gets you free overnight shipping for the pre-order. I'm paying $59 after tax.
 
w00t my dad is pre ordering 2 copys! One for me and for me him. My dad is a huge DOom Fan. I bought him the Doom Collectors Edition for 15 bucks which comes with all the dooms for PC :D. he said it was his best gift because he had lost all those disketts. It took 4 disks install doom 2 lol. Its a good thing we have CDs Now
 
The Edge remake will be so cool. I can't believe id did it. The Edge must be one of the best known multiplayer maps ever created.

i hate to say it, but i'm moe excited for doom 3, then hl2. GEFORCE 6800 UTLRA POWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I understand if your system won't run it, but how can any true FPS fan not buy this game?
 
I'd say 99% chance negatory.

looks bad, gameplay sounds boring, and plot is non-existent
