when it hits the bagain bin. i refuse to buy scripted shooters with 8 hour campaigns. also this has no splitscreen co-op so even then unless it's cheap and I have absolutely nothing else to play I'll pass

ILIED
i voted prestige editon when i wont even buy it at all
not os i dont likeit but cos ii wont have my xbox with me

I enjoyed MW1 quite a bit, so I will buy MW2, but only at a reasonable price.

I'll get it on release day for 360 if I have Xbox Live Gold. If not... I might actually not get it.

Ugh, I will RENT it (PS3). I am a little ticked that the PC version bears the inflated pricetag only because they know so many people want it that they will pay an extra $10 for what is normally $50. -10 penalty to all Ethics Saving Throws from here on.

Im a bit pissed off about the price inflation but I can see where its all coming from.

Its almost manditory to increase the eye candy and spend money on getting the most advanced engines into your latest games, which is kind of our own fault as consumers I guess?

Regardless, if COD4's sales statistics are anything to go by, then MW2 will be the biggest selling game of the year im sure. A definite record breaker is on the way me thinks.

Yep, definitely. CoD 4 was the best one yet and I cannot wait to get this one.

Price for the game alone looks pretty standard to me..

Maybe the price is different in the US?

Every site ive seen here in the UK has show a 44.99 price down from 54.99 or 59.99, and im pretty sure its on the standard version and not one of those numerous special editions.

Eh ah well. Game costs just as much as any other new release title here. Certainly going to get it for PC.

I recently had the opportunity to replay Modern Warfare and I can say pretty much hands down that I will most definitely be purchasing Modern Warfare 2.

/edit not at launch though, I'm not entirely stupid

im gonna wait a bit, but when i do get it ill prolly get the regular edition.

Alrighty. I might not get this graphics card right away, but thanks for the info.

BTW,

I just learned 5000 series is due on 17th-25th of September. G300 is getting pushed to early november or Jan-10.

Alright, but this months' pay is going to the PS3 slim version, so I'm not getting that just about yet. :p

I want a screen that size :)

That first vid has made me want to play CoD in single player for the first time ever.

I got good and bad news though. Good part is that Hans Zimmer will be making the score. He is known for many film scores such as Gladiator, The Dark Knight, etc.

Ok, wow. That's impressive.

yes hardened edition PS3 for me :)

Yeah me too, Hardened for PS3.

How much is it going to be in America?

These are the prices in Australia
Prestige: $200
Hardened: $130
Standard: $200

Going for Prestige 360 edition.

my ps3 is online is ****ed up. It keeps switching to nat 3 type, which isn't really good for multiplayer sessions.

Well, **** it.

I will use the nightvision goggle for walking my dog at night.

Will get this for PC, but as Activision are whoring on the price I might wait for a bit.

Yeah thought I might get into COD with this one...... however if those are the prices I'll just stick with TF2 :(

It's the better game anyway. Assuming MW2 is going to be very similar to MW1... which it almost certainly will be.

PC games have traditionally been $10-$20 cheaper than the console versions. There's no way I'm buying MW2 for more than $40.

Just wanted to make that perfectly clear, for the spies and spiders.

I see a lot of posts of people always bitching about the price being over $40 or whatever.

Games over here are $100 on release.

That trailer had me confused at some points because it started with what was new footage to me (the slow walk/take downs on the ridge) then turned out to be the same mission we saw a few months ago, only with more new stuff in it here and there.

Still kind of cool, though. Right until they get compromised it looks pretty solid, then the waves of enemy forces start appearing and it gets a bit meh.

The mission they played here was probably just to show off some new weapons/accessories and the vehicles.

Well, if you count new weapons being snippets of ''Press X to pick up...'' and vehicles to be snowmobiles that we've already seen in the same mission from E3... :p

I don't recall seeing so much snowmobile action though.

Yes, even though they were "press X to swap", its to show that there are more attachments on these weapons. Also, theres the Spas 12 which already tells that there will be a lot more guns. (2 shotguns on MW1, so far about 5 in MW2)

It looked pretty good but enemies die to easily even for cod. The guy killed dozens of enemies(its like they were armoured with paper mache) and did not get hit once and thats when he was stood in the open. I hope to god its not going to be like this on veteran. The main good thing I noticed was that there was no avoiding grenades every 2 seconds.

If this was a demo shown on a screen at E3 to hundreds of people, it's likely a ''god mode'' of sorts was put on because nothing would be more jarring at a world premier of COD gameplay for the developer playing to suddenly die mid presentation. Alot of developers do this, far as I know.

The snowmobiles have been shown before, in fact I recall the videos that came out at E3 had longer footage than the one shown here.

I don't think that was really the main selling point of this video... even for someone like me who doesn't really care or know much about attachments I could see there wasn't even that much new to see in this video. From what I gathered from the video it either showed a few new features previously unseen to the world such as the opening advance and the indoor section with the Soap locker take-down and the downloadable computer stuff. Nothing too exciting really. At least those things were new to me anyway... I don't remember them from the E3 footage already shown. From what I remember of that level playthrough back a few months ago it started with a ice pick ascent, the character planted a few explosives then all hell broke lose.

I'll admit I haven't been paying too much attention to the news feed of this game. It looks OK at best at the moment.
