A mediocre shooter with pretty graphics is still a mediocre shooter. If I'm going to play a mediocre shooter, then I at least prefer a sci-fi setting instead of stuff that's closer to reality.

HL2's gameplay (and the episodes) may not be the greatest, but it's setting alone was enough to inspire my imagination with awe and was compelling enough to keep me anticipated for the next iteration.

MW2's story and setting is just so generic and lame by comparison and I'm not much for multiplayer. Although one day I'd like to have access to broadband so I can play TF2 one day dammit.

....or TF3. :(

They have rectified this, and will only spawn a devision this time round :)

No, seriously they have rectified this, so I'm guessing a firefight of maybe 10-15 men; depending on the atmosphere and setting I think.

well that might just mean you can hide in a bathtub in a building and wait for your squad to kill all the enemies then. i still doubt Infinity would do that, maybe they'll make you personally kill 10-15 people and then it'll let you progress

I hope so. CoD's gameplay has always simple and endless swarms of enemies that need to be point and clicked on soon gets tiresome. I really like the look of MW2, but want something a little more involving. The clip that showed chasing some guy through an alley and taking him down with a shot to the leg was good.

you're pretty much ignoring the biggest aspect and draw of the game. i dont even think of the series as single-player games anymore, multiplayer is just that awesome.

Christ that trailer is unappealing. I'm really hoping the multiplayer will have the 2/3 months of fun under it's belt that COD4 had, as otherwise I'm even less interested in buying it.

Need more MP footage.

True, but you have to admit that the campaign for this game looks awesome from what we've seen so far.
 
i double checked several UK game stores, they all confirmed 10th of Nov
 
I might buy it. I liked the first. But im more intressted in Uncharted 2 and God of War 3.
 
Preordered for the PC. Was between this and L4D2.
CoD4 was bloody awesome and seeing some of the vids I`m positive this will be even better.
 
Anyone waiting on CoD:Modern Warfare 2?

I went ahead and preordered the Hardened Edition so I could get the metal case, art book and code for the original COD... since it was never ported to consoles until now. I'm excited about the campaign, since it's a direct sequel and i'm very interested in the new spec ops mode. A mode with missions similar to COD4's "mile high club". Scenarios that they wanted to add without disrupting the campaign.

Anyways, lots of new features and it's less than a month away. I can't wait.

Yeah. It was pushed back till November 29th I think? I don't recall. Also, it's 60$ for computer? Ha. What a damn rip.

I'm assuming Steam will give us a deal like they always do, but still, I hate how just because they make the cost of 'next-gen' systems 60$, they think it's time they can do it for PC.

I realize you're going to get a lot more play out of MW2 than the previous one, but still, 10$ more is them saying, "We're going to charge 10$ more just because we can! :)" Yes, they would add the smiley face at the end.
 
After 6 months, I finally got to Level 55 in COD4 last night.

Now I'm completely prepared for MW2. :D

The PC release is officially November 10th. That's right: no delay and simultaneously with the consoles.

Call back the troops and dismount your tanks...the battles over!! November 10 is a go.

I just received a tweet from rudedog @ fpsadmin. He got an email confirmation from his request to Activision to clarify all this BS we have been gong through for past 11 days. The email points to 402 comments the delay is "ofiicialy ,No"

This is what we have been waiting for , this solid confirmation. Rudedog is one of the most trusted sources in this community and we can trust his messages 100%.

THErealRUDEDOG #MW2 on the PC is not delayed and will be out on Nov 10th. Remember you heard it directly from 402 via the VG247. Nothing to worry about
