Assassin's Creed coming to PC

Sharpen your jagged-edge dagger and pull up your face veil because Assassin's Creed will be announced for PC this week - meaning it won't just be PlayStation 3 early adopters who get to feast on the game's throat-slitting glory at the beginning of next year.

News of Assassin's Creed's PC arrival appears in early copies of UK magazine PC Gamer, which subscribers received over the weekend. When pressed, a Ubisoft spokesman couldn't officially confirm the game's stealthy arrival on PC. However, it's likely an announcement will be made to coincide with the magazine hitting newsstands at the end of this week.

the only game I really wanted that was console exclusive makes it's way to the pc ..by the time it's released I'm sure pcs will have surpassed the ps3 in terms of graphics horsepower

Seriously, I can't get any drive for it. I'll read up on it a bit more and change my mind, but either way it's awesome when more developers decide to port to the PC...

hmmm I thought that the word "assassin" in the title was a tip off that you play as ...well an assassin

btw how can anyone say this game will suck? we have next to no information and not even a single ingame screenshot

Infern0's reasoning is probably that it is going to be a port from 360. And xbox ports usually are crap and ruin the game.

True, but now I feel justified in wondering what all the fuss is about- I vaguely remember a few PS3-related magazine spreads praising it to high heaven, and yet no one knows what it's actually all about, eh?

Agreed. It's a nice idea, and it does look pretty, but it's early to get excited about.

I agree ..however the idea of the game: uber assassin in medievil setting owns everyone and takes out his target in broad daylight right in front of the guards ..that's enough to get me curious ...even though it could turn out to be a side scroller puzzle game for all I know

Reasoning is pretty simple.

One, with the limited information, why all the hype?

Two, graphics don't get my money, and that's what they're flaunting for the most part.

Three, the plot is farfetched at best. Apparently you are viewing Altair's (the assassin) actions via genetic memory. The real player is a many generation descendant living in a futuristic earth, replaying his ancestors action. Actually, this game is rather similar to Prince of Persia... Just a slightly different setting and gameplay style.

Basically, it seems to be a game promising alot with no proof, and is at the moment popular because of traits already seen in games like Splinter Cell, GTA, and Oblivion, with the movement capabilities of PoP.


In short, it has a chance to be good, and a much larger chance to just be stupid. I'll try their demo (a demo was reportedly confirmed at E3), and probably end up downloading the game.

No, there are actually a bunch of ingame screenshots out there and it looks pretty good. But nothing like the trailer.

if you guys, read my thread deeply Assassin Creed coming to Xbox 360! it clearly indicates Ubisoft had first planned to launch on PC then Xbox 360.

According to our fellow-members of the magazine in PlayerOne line, Ubisoft would have confirmed at the time of the IDEF the 2006 (Interactive DIGITAL Entertainment Festival) development of a version Xbox 360 and PC of its title Assassin' S Creed. Although announced of exclusiveness on PlayStation 3 at the time of Electronic Entertainment Expo 2006, Assassin' S Creed should thus indeed be born on other platforms.
