ExactlyDr. Freeman said:what i don't understand about fanboys of hardware companies is this..
don't these pple want the best product available in their price range regardless of the brand/company behind it?
surely if u don't look at it this way.. ur more than likely ripping urself off by getting a product that doesn't give the "best bang for ur buck"
personally i don't care which company is on top.. i just want the best card i can get at the time.. simple as that.. if pple buy products for other reasons.. well ultimately its their money.. so good for them to get an inferior product.

And right now this is only true if you buy an FX card.
6800 or X800 are both great products with no fanboyism needed to buy either.
You almost have to be a fanboy to buy an FX.

Becuase 480W is sooo close to a GigawattCybernoid said:I wouldn't know, I don't have the 1 gigawatt power supply that Nvidia's best gpu needs...
well, i have a 550 watt, and i think the rest of mys system would cry if i put a 6800 in thereComradeBadger said:Becuase 480W is sooo close to a Gigawatt
At 1280x1024, the GeForce 6800 Ultra opens up a considerable 14% lead over the Radeon X800 XT. The 6800 "Ultra Extreme" opens that gap to 25%. However, when we crank things up to 1600x1200, the Radeon X800 XT pulls even with the 6800 Ultra, though the "Ultra Extreme" maintains an 8% (5fps) lead.
The GT is the same product as the 6800 Ultra, yet clocked 50 Mhz slower and has slightly less memory bandwidth. That's the biggest difference... oh and hey... 100 USD bucks cheaper ! God I almost forgot that. The Geforce 6800 GT sounds like a rally car and is priced exactly the same as the Radeon x800 Pro. That product has only 12 pixel pipelines. Making the GT superior performance and feature wise.
Ah but that X800 is not a PE, this is.Kyo said:Source= http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1558,1584034,00.asp
whoopy 5 FPS I'd still take the X800 XT over Nvidia's Gpu.

X800XT PE (500$, well unless you get it from Gateway ) compete with 6800U (500$)
Darkknighttt said:i'd take nvidia because i think itll be better for future games cause it has support for directx9.0c
Tr0n said:I think I own ATI and Nvidia.
I think Darkknighttt's point is that for people who only buy a graphics card once every two or three years, the 6800 series would be more future proof.DiSTuRbEd said:So?? Games won't start using most features of 9.0c for another year or so...by that time ATi will have a kickass card for that.
