AvP3

Colonial Marines would've just been the marines campaign in AVP3 anyways and an RPG just sounds stupid.

Can't ****ing wait.

Looks ****ing awesome! Can't wait!

Smart Gun in HD... FUKIN' A!

I haven't heard anything about Colonial Marines being cancelled..

AvP3 is getting developed by Rebellion (also creator of the original game). Their last game's (which is ShellShock 2) Metacritic score is 35%. I wouldn't let them do a sequel if I were SEGA, and I personally prefer Colonial Marines to this.

^This Im not arsed at all really about AvP3,But i am really Looking forward to Aliens Colonial Marines.

The text on the scan makes it sound like a FPS? Like AVP3 as in APV2 but +1? OMFG.

"Mejor no jugar con la luz apagada..." If this is on par with AVP2, we'll have a winner. The first time I played this was pretty freakin' terrifying.

Yes, but they did do the original, which was ten times better than the sequel, so they can do great games (Rogue Trooper was another), you can't judge them off the back of one game.

yes! please dont **** it up please dont **** it up please dont **** it up

They really have a few hits and misses in their game catalog.
But, this is AVP... I highly doubt they'll **** up their baby.

Especially since most of the world knows that they made one of the best scifi horror games ever.
As long as they bring back co-op, I'll be happy.

Hope they sell it on Steam and have good MP. If so, definite purchase.

I'm hoping NS2 gets released before this.

I still don't see the point in AvP. When no-one has, to date, made a good game based on the Alien or Predator franchises separately, I can't see why Fox feel the need to constantly mix the two.

Because that's what seems to work? AvP 1 and 2 were both excellent.

Yeah, I never understood how the pair ever even got matched.(pretty sure they got put together before the alien skull in Predator 2)
But, they make for extremely fun games... so I'm not complaining.

Yet the potential for games based on the separate franchises is huge. Imagine the following:

1) An Aliens game in an L4D style. You and your squad, motion trackers, pulse rifles, smart guns and flame throwers. Hordes of aliens...

2) A Predator game in a jungle environment a la Crysis. Hunter vs Hunted.

Damn.

I've actually had a very a similar idea for a Crysis multiplayer mod, in which one player is the pred and 4 are commandos (or purhaps more scaled accordingly). The commandos all start in separate areas of the jungle, and can either get to the extraction point by themselves, or locate each other for a higher chance at survival, all the while the predator player must use standard predator tools to locate and kill them all. Yes, that would be awesome.

I do understand what you're saying, but AvP has already proven to be a very successful game franchise, and I'm sure it would probably be the safest route for them to take without the risks of doing something new and failing. Perhaps if this game does well also, we may see some new ground with either franchise.

Which is what Gearbox have said Aliens:Colonial Marines will be.

Did you ever play AVP2's multiplayer? It was the most intense and awesome FPS rock paper scissors experience ever. If Rebellion could recreate that in the current gen I'd be more than pleased, but I won't get my hopes up.

Oh really? My interest is now piqued.
Yes, it's almost exactly like L4D in concept, dynamic enemy placement AI, co-op focused, it sounds friggin' awesome, especially considering it will have a lot more tactical capabilities than L4D, with marines being seperated into different classes from what I recall, i.e.a heavy gunner for example, and an engineer that can weld doors etc.

I own both of the previous titles. Sure, they were not the first to employ this gameplay element but being able to play the game from 3 different perspectives right from the beginning was rather fun and refreshing. I Am kinda disappointed that Valve didn't use this mechanic for Half Life 2 too. It worked so well for Half Life. Damn it! I want an Adrian Shephard game!

The original devs are working on it. So, hopefully it'll turn out to be as enjoyable as the original game.

Looks okay. I don't care about visuals, but solid gameplay.

it looks very good. IMO, this needs more work.

I don't like going from A - B. Maybe something like open map
