Bad Company 2 Multiplayer Beta

Thanks Shakey. I'm at work and get really stupid, somehow, while here.

For some reason, and I don't know if this is true for it all, but whenever I play on the console alone, I get more frustrated at the shitty teamwork than I do when I'm playing alone on the PC. I mean, I seem to always be on the team that gets slaughtered while defending, then can't even take the first point as attacker....
It's not the team. It's you.

Oh and Shaker, how about a game in 30 min?

I'll give this game one thing, it feels awesome to snipe both driver and passenger out of a moving ATV with the same shot.

If anyone is interested, my BF:BC2 gamertage is VintageChr0me

Battlefield will have similar problems. EA servers are known to be shit and probably won't work properly when the game is released. If enough people play a game there are bound to be glitches found and exploited. Good luck playing if you aren't in a decent squad as well. Team work is key in BC2.

Good thing there are dedicated servers then, unlike MW2.

Still aren't the stats and such hosted on EA servers? You probably can't even play on a dedicated server unless you've been connected to your EA account.

Name one recent shooter with which you can play online without logging in to some kind of account system.

My point is EA's servers tend to be worse than everyone else's. You can almost expect some type of problem within the first week of launch. You won't be able to connect to your account or the stats will be f*cked and won't update properly(unlocks won't save, etc). Doesn't matter if they have dedicated servers if you can't reach them. It happens with every game they release.

Granted, I'm sure it will work fine once the amount of users die down. I'll probably be focused on the single player to begin with.

That happens with any big online game that gets released. Have you played during any mmo releases recently?

Or tried playing a valve game the week its released?

Alright, I found out why aiming was so hard: My Win7+DX11 hardware=DX11 game combination somehow caused the aiming to be very inaccurate, in XP it is fine.
(just warning other people with DX11 hardware, I'm not the first person who had this problem.)

I wouldn't worry about the server issue. BF2 was released 5 years ago and it still has tons of servers/players on them. Bad Company 2 is the replacement IMO and I really don't see a need for BF3.

PRONE!

oh god jk

I think I've found my new favorite kit. Sniper with the m24 + 4x scope and C4. That gives you the ability to snipe close up easily, and the c4 for...well, c4 shit.

It works really well, and I feel like I'm HELPING as a sniper, not just staying back and living.

No more guys holed up in the flag room....just blow the balcony away for win.

But yeah, I'd be more interested in Dragon Valley. Love that map.

I noticed the controls. So no prone huh? My buddy's going to be pissed ...

ya solid kit for offense

the c4 that is

I would be surprised if it wouldn't. It has been the main complaint so far, plus the PS3 demo already has less powerful C4 and repairable crates.

We are getting an updated build today after downtime.

I seriously doubt a new map, silly dog.

I hope this puts us up to the console build. The extra dmg, fixes in the map to prevent gay hill camping, C4 dmg to crates and the likes.....

Mmmm, I can't wait.

Crates repair PLEASE!

Posted on the EA forums about half an hour ago:

UPDATE: The maintenance has been restarted due to issues on restarting the service under load. The EA servers will be down for another 75 minutes. In which time we are working on a new server and client to be released for when the servers come back online.

It's guys like that that make me sad FRAPS doesn't work for me. I've repair tooled so many fags :(

Do you lower your settings? And record at half-size?

Yes, sometimes i even put it to only record at 15 fps, but that doesnt help either. During action im usually around 15-30 fps anyway, so it makes sense that it becomes unplayable when fraps steals 15 frames from me (leaving me about 0-15 frames to play with). When there is no action, i have about 40-55 fps.

I just have to upgrade my rig and also hope that the optimizations in the retail are good. Maybe i can just record with Battlecam in the retail, and then record with fraps from those recordings, if that changes anything.

EDIT:

http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2010...-effect-2-style-dlc-access-code-in-game-store

When you buy "Battlefield: Bad Company 2" early next month, each new copy will include a "VIP" code which will allow you to access the game's downloadable content.

"We want people to insert the code they get when they buy the game to get access to [DLC content]. It's connected to your personal account, more or less, and what we want to do is give you something extra, added value, for that. In the future you will get more content, for free, if you have this VIP code."

Once you enter the code in "Bad Company 2," you'll be able to access an in-game store which lists all current and upcoming DLC in the near future. This includes free DLC that will be available on launch day, which will be a set of new multiplayer maps.
