Bad Company 2 Multiplayer Beta

I really don't like the kill-cam, that needs to be turned off immediately.

That second shotgun you unlock ain't so bad if you are working in a close squad.

Hardcore mode. 2-3 bullets to kill people, no magic wallhack spotting bullshit either.

my only concern with this is the fact that you can hit targets at long distance quite easily with smg's and pistols; you shouldn't be able to snipe people with those weapons
but, we'll have to wait and see what it's like in the full release

I love sniping with my pistol :(

Been doing it since BF2, damnit.

Just ordered an expensive headset with a mic. Should be here Wednesday. Shit sucks so much when pitz and others are talking and I can't respond without having to take cover, stop shooting and type.

Pre ordered it myself a few days ago. I Am just too lazy to redownload it again on Steam.

Feel free to add me to your friends list though.

I kind of feel the beta was released a little too early. Since we've been playing it for like, two weeks now, I feel like the game should be coming out next week, but it ain't :(

I hope they let us play another map before release.

All I'm going to play is Hardcore.

Because I am

HARDCORE

You crazy bastards, they won't give us anything else to play! Would be nice, but no need to think it will happen, because it won't.

BTW, I am DICE.

We may get a demo with another map before release.

I wouldn't imagine, just because the demo for the console is the same map. I'd assume IF the PC gets a demo, it would be the same thing. Then again, I don't even see a demo coming out, since when the beta ends it will be less than a month until full release. [snicker] Full release[/snicker]

ya didn't they say something about an official demo near the end of the month? for PC?

Recorded this while fooling around with a friend in an empty server. Took me HOURS to create the gif file (seriously, creating gifs is a greater pain in the ass than getting analy raped)

I just learned why I sucked at sniping; I thought there was bullet drop and made adjustments as such.

It seems to be random for me. Sometimes i aim a bit above the head and get a clean headshot...sometimes the bullet flies straight over it. :/

At the first part of the map, when assaulting, if you're on the hill, I usually have to aim 1/2 a notch higher to score a hit, so it takes a good distance to drop.

Well, yeah it does seem random for me.

Ah well, just aim slightly above the center of seen mass and you're all set.

you can hold down the trigger to keep looking down the scope after you fire
helps when you're not sure where the bullet is going at long distance

Ah, thanks, I didn't know that. :D

They also need to tone down the effects on the scope, looks like cheap plastic.

I don't know this game seems really flaky for me. The infantry combat doesn't seem very smooth just like every other battlefield game up to this point. Maybe I just need more maps or maybe I just got too used to CoD:MW2.

Well finally the fun ended. Punkbuster did what it does the best, phorbid legimate players from joining servers. Tried updating the PB but the game just crashes all the time. Never had anything positive to say about PB. BC2 on pc is a pass for me, but a must buy on consoles.

Bakurei, that's what I find the most amazing thing thus far. PunkShitter hasn't screwed me over yet, and it ALWAYS does. I dunno why I'm so lucky this time around.

No Limit: I agree, it does seem....'choppy'. Not frame lossy, but just not as smooth as it can be. I'll wait and hope they fix it for release.

Yeah, but I've never noticed it, what's the distance for the bullet to start droppin'?

the instant it leaves the barrel it starts to drop.

But because there's no wind bullet drop is pretty easy to handle, from the mtn where the attacks start to the middle of the first station is about a half-dot drop.

I usually just put the crosshair RIGHT above their head. If I hit them in the body, success, if I hit their head, more success! win/win really.

Then again, I don't play Recon. USELESS SNIPERS.

Snipers are pretty useless. Assault kits have C4 (and ammo packs) so there's no reason to go recon. Motion sensors would be useful, if snipers actually used them.

is there a cap on what you can unlock in the demo/beta? the automatic snipers that aren't available right out the door are great, or were in BC. i forgot the name of one, it's a little tiny briefcase fit rifle with a brown/orange butt, fires real fast silenced rounds. great for spotting, even better for getting off two shots in less than a second to drop someone with a body hit.

I don't know why people don't use those motion sensors more. You get spot assists every time someone dies around it. It's so nice.

Whenever I play Recon, I'm the front lines guy. I'll be the one to run up and c4 the tanks, use the motion sensors and pick off guys running to defend the objective.

I'll never be one of those fags that sit on the rock.

Whoa, the sniper bullets are actually affected by gravity? Holy crap those hours of Sniper Elite might actually come in handy holy shit

Oh yeah, every single bullet is affected, but obviously depending on the gun it affects it different.

*This is according to one of the things I read on their forum, dunno if it's true*

Yup, level cap is 11, you can unlock 2 or 3 class specific unlocks and there are a couple of unlocks that can be used by all classes, like the Thompson f.e.

Why? Gravity is known to be constant.
