Bad Company 2 Multiplayer Beta

Eh, nobody has added me on Xbox live to play BC2, so I assumed nobody was interested in playing together.

God damn consoles ruin everything. I was going to get into this but nobody i know is getting it for PC, and now all yalls fagets are going console too. ****ing mainstream shit ruining everything god damn.

I already pre-ordered it for PC. WASD + mouse for life. My PS3 is for playing DVDs mostly.

I think the majority of the people on this forum will be getting it for PC.... so don't worry!

just played one of my best games yet:
my friend and I went engi on offense and absolutely dominated with the tank (mt90 is it?)
although we made it to the final area and could not finish it, we ended up having more than double the points of the next best players(s) on both sides.... AND we didn't even die once!

the icing on the cake was shooting down 2 helis with the main cannon :)
 
The best I've managed to do is steal the Apache on offence and then racking up 73 kills in the gunner position. 16 players so I killed every person on the enemy team 4 times each. They must have been pissed.
 
I was going to add all you guys, but then i remembered that there is quite a long distance between Europe and America. The latency would be insane :(

What about East Coast or UK servers? I live on the west coast and latency tends to be ok on servers in those locations.
 
Just had the best round evar.

Within the first few minutes of the game, I got another gold star for the knife *100th kill with it*, some Melee Patch and another Gold Star.... Each are worth 5k points each :O

The Xbox360 demo only lets you advanced 2 ranks before the next rank takes like 4 million points.

I don't have it hooked up to Steam, but you can bug me there first if I'm on, but look for me in BFBC2 as "Iced_Eagle"

They need to come out with that 4-pack now so I can preorder on steam!

*Edit* Hm, and does anyone have a Vent / Teamspeak / Mumble server so we can voice chat?

you can link the shortcut on Steam so it still shows that you're playing the game

BC2 crashes when I do that. I tried in admin mode too... I have no idea why, but that's what happens!

I'm always risking my ass as a medic, running into enemy fire to revive folks. It has a nice heroic feel to it.
 
How many maps will be in Battlefield: Bad Company 2? 8, 10, 16 or more? We don't know for sure, but here is what we do know.


Tactical Field Guide on UltimatePrestige.com lists 8 maps
Members on BFeditor.org forums found 10 map loading screens in the PC beta
DICE programmer, Mikael Kalms responded to a tweet asking how many maps there will be a launch and quoted this from an IGN review published back in December.

It's possible not all the maps have been posted on UltimatePrestige.com and not all of loading screens were finished by the time the PC beta went out.

There is a rumor posted by BadCompany2Blog.com stating that Strike at Karkand is coming as free DLC post launch. The source seems to be a friend of a friend of a friend so I wouldn't take this too seriously, but it could be a possibility. Karkand still is a big time favorite of Battlefield 2 players.

A Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Interview on Eurogamer.de talking with DICE's Charles Magnusson in German indicates they are considering adding co-op support to the military shooter sequel, though it's not clear if this will be through a post-release patch or DLC, or what (thanks Joker961 via play.tm). Here's Google's translation of the comment: "We have decided once to integrate additional game modes in multiplayer mode. We must always decide what we implement. Our studio does not have infinite resources. Nevertheless, we want to integrate coop in the game. The fans just need to have some patience and trust us." When they inquire if this will be through DLC he said (with a smile): "Let's see what the future brings.

Last night Shakermaker, The Brick, CyberPitz, Pesmerga, and I had a game going. It was incredibly funny including Pitz making fun of the snipers on the hill. I also saw a jeep coming and I think somebody laid C4 on the ground. Well the jeep blew up and it did a cartwheel in the air all flaming and stuff.

I have noticed a couple of times now that playing with people on different continents doesn't really seem to be a problem. Ping is almost never an issue. That bodes well for the future.
 
Only snipers on the hill care about k/d. If you want to win, especially on offense, you have to get out there and take risks.
 
My K/D ratio is about 0.50, I just suck and aiming works very poorly.

So, C4 blowing up the boxes is pretty much the most aggravating thing ever.
 
Just scored a 7k point game by being the baddest mother ****er around.

The PS3 demo is updated compared to the PC beta and boxes are much harder to blow up now. They are also repairable.

I do whilst keeping a positive KD which helps our team by not needlessly depleting tickets. If I've harassed a position and killed a bunch of dudes then others can move in and take over. Reviving peoples helps a lot naturally. People are afraid to die in videogames so quite often on pub you'll have yourself and one or two other guys pushing hard. If you're popping objective or just being a credit to the team i.e. Medic then great, but if you're some guy who runs forwards and dies a lot that's not very useful.

That was just awful. Some of those "myths" are clearly stated on EA's blog, others were shown in official videos or fan made. Why would it be a "myth" that you could defib enemies? That's been in BF2, and 2142. The myths are supposed to be rare occurrences of something really bizarre happening, not things every one that's played a video game already knows or can gather on his own after two minutes of game time.
