This is about that minessota shooting,
as i see it, if there were no guns, there would be no shooting

i'm from russia, and kids are alot more violent there, but nobody shoots anybody in schools because, well there are no guns, what so ever. i'm sure if there were guns available then there would be a shooting every day, but there are simply no guns around

on the other hand, in america, everybody blames video games, movies, but nobody says anything about the guns, it's just unreal to me

are the people that dumb, that they can't see a problem as clear as that?

Protect yourself against what though? If it was a massive alien force, I could see most people giving the finger to a no gun law, and the authorities not caring.

But as it stands, how many people who own a gun actually have to deal with a threat on a day to day basis?

And all this philosophical thinking of how it's the person who does the killing, the gun is just the tool - take away the tool and what happens?

A gun makes it easy to kill someone. Sure, people who want to (or in their minds see it as they have to) kill others will find a way of doing it, but in a moment of madness, if the person couldn't find a gun to kill someone easily, then maybe they would reconsider....

I know it's all hypothetical, but in my eyes I think removing this need for protection with guns would be better for everyone

because guns were pretty much invented due to the wars in the first place. think back to cannons and gun powder in rifles in civil wars!. guns have simply been improved due to access to more materials, technology, theories and practicals.

guns are a way of defending yourself. im not against them, but i AM against them being in the wrong hands. they should be used to control situations and take lives IF AND WHEN NECESSARY. what would you do if a madman had a knife at your throat? let him gut you or have the police shoot him and you going back home to your wife???

There are lot of more kills in countries with no gun control than with countries with guns banned. Yes, people are using other tools if guns are banned, but guns are the most efficent way to kill people, much more effective than knives or fists. If you ban guns and stop trade on the black market, you will notice a dramitic change in murder rates. If you don't I will eat my hat.
