I like gay women.... just not gay guys.... well I don't HATE gay guys, as long as they know not to hit on me or anything weird like that, they can be alright.

It's simple:
Those who cannot understand or learn how to understand something eventually fear it.
Fear is considered a sign of weakness, so the fear is turned into hatred.
Hatred is then manifested in the form of violence, and in this modern culture violence is considered a show of strength.

spoken like a true homophobe. that's what everyone says because they think it's ok to say "i dont mind gay guys unless they try to hit on me!!! oh yeah i like lesbians...if they're having sex and they're hot!!"
i've known a few gay guys over my life and none of them would think about hitting on a guy who might say something like that...gay guys have their own sense of who's gay and who's not.
the gay guys i've met are pretty cool in general...i had a gay roommate my freshman year in college who was a complete asshole though.
in short...i don't hate gay people...so "everyone" doesn't hate them. they're just people. though i do say "that's gay" sometimes...i guess i might offend someone, but i'm not saying it trying to put gay people down...it's just slang for me (that i guess i should try to cut out)

What's your problem? I said I don't mind them as long as they don't try anything weird on me. That doesn't make me a homophobe in any way. I have a few gay friends myself (well only one) and he's cool. Chill out before you go accusing someone

seriously, freaking hollywood types all say that anyone who doesnt fall over backwards to accept someone is a homophobe/sexist/raceist.

One time I was with a drunk stright girl and she started hitting on me, that was annoying as hell too. But I realize she was drunk.
There is nothing wrong with not wanting to be hit on by a guy if your straight, it doesn't make you evil or anything. It's perfectly natural for you to feel uncomfortable if your straight and being hit on by a gay guy.
I feel uncomfortable when straight women hit on me, or when I see a guy and a girl kiss. I'm not a heterophobe because of that.
I should have been clearer, Homophobes hate gay people and do not show them respect. They are afraid of them for whatever reason, but their fear is always irrational. If you meet a gay guy one night and are afraid that he may hit on you for he rest of the night your acting homophobic. If your fear is irrational it's a phobia.

i dont expect people to fall over backwards to accept anyone...in fact i expect the opposite...notice my use of the word "typical"
you saying "i dont mind them as long as they don't...." is homophobic.
you can't let yourself just say "i like gay people" you're leaving an exception for yourself because you're afraid people will make fun of you or something...a defense.
i'm totally calm (was told to chill out)...i don't get worked up on message boards...i could seriously care less about what you think of gay people, but c'mon...your response was something that's been said 10000 times before. "i dont mind gays unless..." such a cliche.
i'm not a "freaking hollywood type" if i even know what that means. i'm actually quite conservative politically on many issues. no need for insults. i just hate seeing people respond to questions like that with cookie-cutter answers.
if you seriously weren't afraid of gay people...then why would you suddenly not like a gay friend if they hit on you? that's what you were saying by your statement? what would happen if they hit on you? you'd say "i'm not gay, man" or something like that...and that'd be it. they're not gonna try to suck your cock in public or anything...but it sounds like you think's gonna happen when you make comments like that.

I think what Maskirovka is trying to say here is that your homophobic if you only like gays under certain conditions. For example, you like gays IF they don't bother you, or IF they don't act girly. Correct me if I'm wrong Maskirovka.

I find a lot of attributes annoying in strait people as well as gay people. and I genrally do not hang out with people who have traits what iratate me. there is nothing wrong with that at all, people have alwase picked their friends like this and I dont see why I should stop just to be more understanding to gays.

No Homer, you aren't a homophobe at all. It's totally natural to feel uncomfortable if your straight and in that situation. It doesn't make you a homophobe.

i agree...i never called you a homophobe...being uncomfortable in that situation is completely understandable...it'd be the same as if a straight guy was drunk off his ass and making a fool of himself hitting on all the straight women.
