Bill Gates steps down from microsoft

he will still play a major roll in huge decisions, im sure, what with his tens of billions of dollars invested into the company.
 
It won't happen until 2008, and he also will still be at Microsoft, but won't be doing the same day-to-day activities.

I really think that it's better that he spends more time with the Gates foundation, and spread his role throughout 3 or 4 other people instead of all roles to one person (it probably really burned him out)

Gates will always be there to make important decisions though..

Yea, I saw this on the news a little while ago, and it got my attention.

I think this will have a beneficial impact on the company.

Man, what can I say? Bill Gates is cool, he's gotten an enormous amount done...

but still, I find it hard to respect a man who names his company after his penis :x

Gates must leave.

On one hand, he has earned enough money for the rest of his life. He needs not earn anymore. On the other hand, since Windows sucks and crushes every single day, Gates is being cursed everyday. He cannot stand long if he continues being cursed greatly.

do some reading. ;)

he isn't directly stepping down, he's simplying freeing up more time to work on his foundation and handing over his title to ray ozzie, which has been expected for some time.

.. also, it's not immeditaly instituted, it will progressively be over 2 years.
