I don't even think I have to say much, except to show you the photos.
For all you Bioshock fans out there, including me, I think you'll get it.

Look at the author's name. And the title. Ring a bell? And doesn't that look like a plasmid?

Atlas? and look, doesn't that look like that winged golden guy at the begining? Hell, even the background looks like the art in Bioshock.

No comment, it's obvious.

Good Grief.

Plasmids much? (telekinesis?)

Good God, could you make it any more obvious?

I were playingz with Plagiarism.

How ironic that Bioshock has such tough Piracy protection?

Art Deco is a fairly common art style.

The idea of having a "power" in your hand is unimaginably common.

Atlas was a Greek god.

Go away.

tribute? Didn't think about that. but must you name all your characters after it?

Yes... yes, it's well known that the story of Bioshock is an homage to Ayn Rand and and her philosophy of objectivism.

I've got to give you props for actually managing to make it sound like a BAD thing, though.

I thought everyone knew that bioshock was influenced by this stuff >_>

I wouldn't go all the way to Plagiarism, still, great post.
I agree about the contributes, seems more like it.

lol

Art deco was a common art style in the 1930s and 40's. Ayn Rand's work inspired Bioshock.

It's no more plagiarism than Half-life 2 is plagiarism of 1984.

Haha talk about backfire on the poster.

Except that Bioshock does a far better job at having an interesting plot than any of Ayn Rand's books ever did. Atlas Shrugged could have been 400 pages lighter, easily, and still had the same effect.

Edit: But yeah, it's obvious the Bioshock's story was based around what Ayn Rand's ideal society would have been. I thought it was kind of funny, actually X-D

NO WAI!

What the smeggy hell is this |censored| stuff about?

He's not allowed to say 'Epic' or 'Fail' because he used it pretty much every post before.

lol, FAIL.

Oh well, at least I got to chime in with "smeggy hell". Cheers Jintor! :D

Anyhow, plagiarism? Nah.

lol you discovered this just now? I knew about it before the game was even released. They took inspiration from it, i wouldnt call it plagarism.

OMGOMGOMG and I jsut noticde it plagiarizez Systim Schock as well!!!1one!!

what? no seriously? are you saying Bioshock lifted the art style (art deco which was popular in the 30's) from Ayn Rand? here are some of the original covers to Ayn Rand's books:
http://www.aynrandlexicon.com/about/fiction.html

you would have been closer had you said they lifted some of the Rand's philosophy ..ayn rand had absolutely nothing to do with creating art deco, she's (was) a writer not an artist

what makes it even more laughable is your outrage that a video game stole the art style of an entire art movement and then misindentified it's source

btw since you spent so much time being outraged apparent plagerism, as penance you should read one of Rand's books, I suggest Anthem, it's fairly short

How... can you plagiarize... art deco...

I literally cannot comprehend how anyone's thought process can even work that way.

This is like saying my desk plagiarized a shed because they're both made with wood.

What the ****, man.

Just....gtfo......please......
Its ART why the hell are you making a big deal about this?

Gentlemen, GENTLEMEN, please! We are overlooking the biggest issue in this thread:

Ayn Rand f*cking SUCKS. Discuss.

I'm saying it's just the cover. I have no idea who these people are or what she wrote. Just an interesting similarity and a dramatized title.
