Black Friday 2010

I'm not a sheep, so im not being a consumer whore and buying into this disgusting tradition.

In other words, I'm broke. I may get a steam game, once the sweepstakes end and I don't win.

I'm not either, I pretty much am a bargain shopper. i was gunna get a new rig this past summer but decided a new video card could hold me over for at least another 9 months

Ah, I totally ****ed up my finances this year. I'm not buying anything. But I spent hundreds last year on a new PC that is serving me well, so I still feel somewhat sated. Plus I bought a bunch of hard drives and a new monitor and stuff recently. I don't really need anything.

Maybe it would be cool to save up two years worth of extra cash and just go berserk every other Black Friday.

There are some really good deals to be found if you're looking, but don't be suckers - a lot of those deals aren't special at all. (like regular price)

I only have money way before black friday and way after.

sux

To only have a debit card. ;-;

I remember hearing on the news about a lady killing a little girl over a Furby on black Friday. Do I want to shop friday? Noooo SPANK you. people are nuts. people are animals. people cannot be controlled. People are irrational, and above all, common sense is not common. I don't want to be trampled to death because someone wants the new barbie toothbrush. **** that shit.

My girlfriend goes Black Friday shopping every year. Scares the hell out of me. I'm a nervous wreck till she comes home.

*person dies while shopping on black friday*

*assume mayhem and death occur at every establishment from then on*

Sound logic indeed.

I went last year to the only shopping area convenient to bus to. It was really not busy at all. I didn't go super early though, but still it was around 9 AM and no crowds.

Steam deals are tempting but I have no time to play. Kinda eying Deus Ex since I never played it and it's $2.50.

Im getting a new Xbox if there are any good package deals even though i really dont want to because i feel like a chump, still i have a large library and no machine

Well the nice thing is this year, you can shop in you PJs. Most online sites have a Virtual Black Friday too

Black Friday is pretty much a tradition for my friends and I. We usually go every year. It's generally not too crazy except where there are some crazy doorbuster deals with limited quantities. But it seems like there's none of those kind of deals this year.

We usually line up starting around 11pm to midnight. All the malls in my area open at midnight, and retail stores like Best Buy open at 4am. Some people may not like lining up, but I find it somewhat fun and exciting at times. Like last year we lined up at Besy Buy at 11pm, the line was probably 3 or 4 blocks long. But we all had camping chairs, a small heater, and of course some alcohol which everyone was sharing. Even if we don't get anything in the end, its still a fun sight to see.

I'm hoping to get some mountaineering boots, but they are seriously expensive. Who pays $600 for boots besides Italian supermodels?

It's entertaining to watch the chaos ensue, I looked at a few of the deals which don't seem extraordinary in comparison to any other sale period. Today is Thursday for Europe, not Thanksgiving, and tomorrow is Friday not Black Friday...this all passes us by without anyone noticing :p

If you would have posted this a couple of days earlier, Target had a sale with the new Xbox 360 Slim + Kinect + a $30 Target Gift Card for $300. If I dare try, I might head to Target tomorrow to try and snag that $300 40" TV I read about. Just need to prepare my battle armor so I can fight off the 20,000 other people vying for the same tv.

surely you can outrun fat people in scooters. if that fails use donuts as a diversionary tactic

Black Friday? Yeah, right, I'm being safe by staying in and ordering stuff on Amazon. They practically offer the same prices as Target, but you don't have to fight off fat people, and you're guaranteed a hold on an item. I suggest you fellows do the same, unless you're prepared for a fight.

No way I'd go through the mayhem. I shop online on Black Friday. No waiting at all, well, except your order might take a day or two extra to be packed and shipped because of the amount of business that Black Friday generates.

Just saw this deal. I don't pay attention enough to know if it good or great, but it made the news.

Xbox 360-S (250GB HDD) + Forza Motorsport 3 and Alan Wake - $300 w/free shipping : http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-250GB-Holiday-Bundle/dp/B0047Y9BGE

A friend and I are going to Wal-Mart this year. Staying in the back, just to observe.

Other than that, it seems like the deals this year are really weak.

I'll be in the line at Target in about 5 hours (two hours before doors open), hoping to snag one of the APEX 46" 1080p LCD's for $449. Need a new TV for a new apartment next year.

My father says my odds are slim. **** off Dad.

Gonna go maybe to Best Buy tomorrow to find a Logitech M305 mouse and some Tiesto/Armin Van Buuren CD's. I have $100 dollars to spend, so hopefully I'll get something.

Go to it man, and forget your manners while in line.

I have $700 I'm itching to spend, but I think I'm just going to save it for a Unity Pro license or anything else that comes along.

The job I have has allowed me to afford most of the things that I've been really itching to get, like a tablet, great headphones, monitor(though that was the shitty paper route job), a top of the line electric shaver(can't wait for that... GOD DAMN SAFETY RAZORS), and more.

Really... I'm kind of content at the moment. Time to save.

Wanted to buy ice tea, but the local Super Walmart belted off all the grocery isles to use as lines for certain electronics, so I couldn't even buy that. bullsh*t.

Goddamn't, they've just announced they have at least 12 of the Apex 46"ers, but tons of the Westinghouse 40"ers (which I DON'T want). Time to start stretching.

By the way, it's 8 degrees F with the wind chill. T-minus 1 hour, 22 minutes.

UPDATE: Apparently there's exactly 17 left and I'm the fourth in line to ask about it. Excellent, somewhat warming news. I am beginning to notice the urge to urinate though...

Nearly every waking moment from Wednesday afternoon to Thursday 7 pm preoccupied with making Thanksgiving dinner for 11 folks.

4:15 AM now. Happy Black Friday. I'm planning to go in to work today.

Got the TV. After two hours of standing in the goddamn cold, I was victorious in beating everyone to one and making the first purchase at that Target. They actually gave me a $50 gift card for being the first. Excited me.

Drove home in utter anticipation.

Unboxed it, screwed in stand, plugged in.

Channel searched. Finished in about three minutes.

1 minute. ONE ****ING LOUSY GODDAMN MINUTE of a stunning picture. "Click" I hear, and there end's the life of my $500 investment.

You've got to be ****ing kidding me.

Oh man, that sounds tragic.

But yeah, I've been staying home, got this game called Killzone 2 (never even heard of it, ha ha) for just $10, a great deal, if you ask me. Not much else, though. I missed most of the early deals.

If any one of you use Norton and will need to renew in the near future, dell.com has Norton AV 2011 on sale for $9 with free 7 day shipping. I got three of them for my computers.

Staples is offering Norton and McAfee anti-virus free after MIR. And Fry's has Norton, Kaspersky, and the NIS/Ghost/Systemworks [frys.com] tripack free after MIR as well.

Got the Logitech M305 for $14.99 and Tiesto: Copenhagen World Tour (Elements of Life + The Sound of Tiesto) DVD for $14.99!

I got Assassin's Creed: Bro-hood for 39,99 from amazon, and will be heading to Best Buy to see if they have WWII in HD on sale. If its not, then I'm going to head to D'Angelo's and get me a delicious regular price Chicken Parmesian grinder. Mmmm.

If any of you care, The Hangover is $3.99 on Amazon, originally $19.99. But hey, now I feel hungry because of Krynn.
