Have they mentioned whether or not they are going to show this game in action or is it going to be a simple anouncement?
 
I got addicted to doing Starcraft games online humans vs. computer AI... whenever I tried to play against people, though, I just got smashed... I mean hard enough to be kind of embarassing. Dunno how I'd feel about Starcraft 2... another game to suck at?

I'm in the same boat.. I never held a candle to anyone in MP no matter how hard I tried. I loved the campaigns and LANing with friends at times, but online play just made me feel incredibly gimp.

The only real fun I had playing Starcraft was over modem (yes, modem) games with a guy in my town. Goddamn that got laggy towards the end though...

I'd be in the same boat with SC2 since I've never been able to keep up with the elite crowd of RTS gamers (why I don't play CoH much anymore). Honestly I'd prefer to see Diablo III, but I think Blizz should do SC2 to satisfy the salivating fans.

Still seems like an odd time though, what with the anti-shortage of RTS games lately...
 
If they could faithfully recreate at least half the magic that was Star Craft, I'd be game for SC2. Otherwise I don't see room for another RTS, it's the most overproduced genre on the PC, I'm getting tired of all the clones.

I guess what I'd most like to see is a third entry into the Diablo series, as unlikely as it would be, considering this is being announced at a Korean game tournament.

I dont know about that, I would call the FPS genre the most "overproduced".

I think I mentioned RTS as the most overproduced because it seems to be just a PC problem, rarely if ever does someone attempt RTS and succeed on consoles. However, these days, shabby FPS 'clones' make their way onto any and all platforms - even cell phones.

looks like it will not the starcraft2 after all
 
The anticipation is owning me, especially when them changing the teaser site.
 
I really hope its Diablo 3 to be honest, playing the diablo games with a few buddies is pretty epic.

It's still showing for me. Besides, if they did take it down, it'd just show they were trying to cover it up.

I honestly can't see it being anything except SC2 at this point... or POSSIBLY an entirely new franchise, but that's unlikely with the insta-fanbase they already have on each of their properties.
 
No new franchises, I'm pretty sure. They've made reference to units and races that already exist.

Diablo has already come around twice. It's Starcraft's turn now. I can't believe people are actually resisting the idea because RTS games are popular. Since when has there been a Blizzard game that hasn't gotten a glowing seal of quality? Since when have their takes on the RPG and RTS genres been anything but unique?

Let's put it this way. If it's not Starcraft 2, or at least in some way related to Starcraft, I'm going to f*cking kill somebody. I was 9 years old when I got Starcraft in 1998. I'm 18 years old now and I've been waiting for this damned sequel for half of my life (which is sort of funny, because Half-Life is my second favorite game of all time, behind Starcraft), and if it's Diablo or Warcraft I'm going to first have a mental breakdown and then smear my shit all over the front door of Blizzard Entertainment's headquarters, wherever that may be. No, seriously. I'll write a copypasta about it and it'll be outrageous but true.
 
Would a new Diablo be THAT bad though? I agree, StarCraft is also probably my favorite game, but I wouldn't mind seeing a new Diablo either.
 
I wouldn't mind either Diablo 3 or Stracraft 2.
 
A Diablo 3 wouldn't be horrible.

But... come on. Starcraft 2 is the game everybody wants and they know it. The franchise has had a larger gap between releases than the other two have, and it's about time the series was given the stage again.
 
If its another Warcraft I'll be sad. If its anything to do with World of Warcraft, I'll cry.

It's true. At least there was a sequel to Diablo *along with a couple expansions...though the best was made by Sierra, let you run fast in town!*

Starcraft has seen an expansion, and nothing since....come on, a game THAT big requires a sequel.
 
And the Starcraft expansion wasn't even a dedicated Blizzard project - it was a joint venture between Blizzard and another developer.

It's got to be SC2.
