If that antivirus is really that good, I'll take it.
Edit: Bah, sli is for Nvidia, right? I don't want to go searching for a more suitable mobo, I'll just get on of Nvidia's cards.
Ok, my harddrives. I have a Seagate and a Raptor, and from previous posts, I think it's been established that the Raptor is better (if that's the case, why is the Seagate more expensive? Just what the company demands?). Should I get two Raptors, then? If I had two of the same HD, I know how everything's going to go.
DannyC. said:Alright, so is the Raptor better at doing stuff, but has less space?
Is the operating system I linked good?
Current Asus mobo + Nvidia card?
giant384 said:u will prob. only need 80gb for now dont c y u would need more than that but running 2 raptors in RAID0 will allow things load alot faster

duffers20 said:Don't you mean a network card that will allow you to connect your pc to a router/adsl modem via a 10/100mbit connection? Never heard of a 'broadband card'
DannyC. said:Hmm...
Hey Qonfused, do you mean something like this little DSL wireless adapter that's connected to my computer by a cord?
DannyC. said:..shall I occasionally fill you guys in?
DannyC. said:I'm planning on building it myself, it would give me a better sense of accomplishment. I got a pm from Mr. White a while ago offering help, so we've worked out that I'll contact him on AIM once I have all the parts.
DannyC. said:I still feel weird about getting these Raptor harddrives because they have so little space. I looked around at some more Western Digital drives, and I don't think any of them can read or write as fast as this one can, but it only has 74 gigs.
DannyC. said:Just a random question, on the device manager on My Computer, when I double click on processors, why does it show two?
MF-Boltress said:Muwahahaha... Qonfused and DannyC's email addresses!! :naughty:
duffers20 said:There are drives out there that get pretty close to WD Raptors when it comes to performance. Obviously they won't be as fast, but they are pretty good. You should try and check out some reviews as you get a very good compremise between capacity and speed.
Do you have a pentium 4 with hyper threading? Not sure if they show as 2 seperate cpu's in the device manager, but I know they do in the performance tab of task manager, but tahts the only thing I can think of.
3ssence said:I wouldn't bother twith two raptors, as qonfused said just get a single raptor and a larger capacity drive for other stuff
