Remember in 1.6 when you had classes like GIGN, Seal, etc.

Character models, not classes :/
In some ways i think its good for gameplay having the same gear per team.....absoloutley no confusion.

ohhh see, I got confused....Char Mods....yeh.I always used to spaz out and think my m8s where enemies. Plus it wasnt realistic to have unorganized organizations or factions of CTs and Terrorism units.

I'm really angry there are only still just 1 model per team. They've had long enough, all they did was update a model already in use. The models in raising the bar looked fricking awesome, hurry up and release them, the 1337 was ace.

Is it really that much of a difference if there is more models? Really...... :|

I would like them to come up with VAC before they even thought about models

I hear ya man, thats really all i'd like them to add at this point.. I mean is it really that hard? it gets boring seeing all the same models running around ;(

It would be nice if they made map specific models, (ie) Arab terrorists and desert camo marines for dust levels, SWAT and the generic T skin they use now for office....etc.

But is it effecting you from not being able to play the game? No, so please stop complaining about it, and wait a bit longer.

yea tis tru i really want my 1337 model and SAS model back, i always play as them. I think the problem is with the hit boxes, back in the day with the hitboxes a modle could be any size but at the end of the day they where the same size according to the hit boxes. Now there are no hit boxs, its on done on the actual model, so if a model is slightly smaller then another there will be abit of an advantage.

It's an incomplete game, and its been that way since it came out.

Are you sure about that, cause I remember clearly that a lot of people said the hitboxes lagged, and even had videos, in fact I'm quite sure. Did they change that in the last update.

I think map-specific models are the go.

Hear hear
CS 1.6 looked stupid with all these different player models
Map specific ones would rock
I'd love to see the desert camo in dust 2

Not to much camo gear though, or else im gonna be blasting away walls just in case...

Incomplete? How is it incomplete? Its playable forward to back, just because you can't chose a different model doesn't mean its incomplete. It plays thats all that should matter, you people are getting annoying again, "I want, I want" don't we all want new models? Yes, but complaining about it here won't do anything. :|

CSS rocks - it looks great, its insanely addictive and its really good fun
You won't hear me complaining about the game (well maybe a tiny bit)
And its a complete game with minimal bugs and problems these days
Plus compared to cs1.6 cheating is almost non existant

map appropriate characters make sense but I sometimes I prefer using the artic character in a map like dust just because it's funny

absolutely no challenge :naughty:
you could argue realism, because (especially terrorists) different units have different gear and clothing

Yeah, Beams right. It would make the game feel a little more diverse.

They should add a dynamic vest too, so you know when people are wearing kevlar. It can attach like the grenades do.

there still are hitboxes, just the physics model is different.

I like this idea,
but what about the helmets? :cheese:

I agree with beam and therefore Bliink. Though I do love my SAS model so...

yeah, beam is right IMHO . So I want the models, normal physics for ragdolls and objects, VAC2 and some new maps  Did I forget to mention anything? :p

helmet is an odd area, but I say they should have a default metal/plastic type one, and then a fancy kevlar one. maybe.

I'm not sure about the helmets

Yea, if you buy Kevlar, there should be a kevlar attachment on the character. If you don't buy one, you don't get that model. It's a great idea, easy to code (I would think.) and would further improve CSS.

I like map specific models... that would rock. Hard. I mean, like, put the 50000000 watt woofer between your legs and turn it up, rock.

yeah I like the attaching kevlar idea, but I was just kidding about the helmet idea - that would be just a bit too ridiculous IMHO :E .

you could take the shiny DX9 effect off and add a kevlar looking material texture to the helmet submodel. That'd do it, but it might be a bit of a distraction.

Going back to the beginning here but for all these dudes who sound as if they're gonna crap their pants and kill 'emselves if they dont get some new player models, you do know that there are plenty of websites that give you variations and completely new sets of models if u want them dont you? Just for a refreshing change? Oh and yes there are hitboxes, I'd give you a link to a site that is completely devoted to the workings of css hitboxes and bullet spray patterns if I could remember it :|

I wouldn't like to see different terrorist and CT factions...back in the day I was notorious for team killing with the confusion. But I wouldn't mind different faces and body types, as long as they keep the uniforms.

Actually, they aren't lagged.

The problem with the videos is that they are from the perspective of a) a player watching another player in which case, the hit locatinos will look wrong because the actual player has different settings than the observers. OR b) The person who records the video has the wrong settings in the first place OR c) there is something wrong with their internet connection.

Bomberm@n has put up an excellent article about how Source deals with the players and hit locations: http://www.pro-hl.com/column_bomberman_1.shtml

The reason poeple think the hitboxes are lagged is because of a differing point of view due to ping change. A player with lag 996 is gonna see a person *use italy as an example* at the ct spawn, while that person is actually half way up the logs in to the apartments, so the techies have tried to work out some kind of average for every1 to be happy, that is why you sometimes get the bs headshot where the dude shoots 10 metres behind the player and gets a hs, but its not bs, its due to the spacing out of the hitboxes to compensate for lag.

Yes and that makes CSS unplayable in tournaments.. gg on the new desert outfit
