Crysis Dx10 video

These interviews are great, and I liked the reason he gave too- "Because we want to show that PC kicks ass."

I changed my mind after watching those. I am hyped.

Wow! Great interviews! Man this game just whooped the show floor.
 
I'm glad a least one good developer is sticking with the PC. +100 respect to Crytek. They certainly are showing that the PC can kick ass, Crysis puts the other 'next-gen' games to shame. It has better visuals, more interactivity, and more interseting gameplay concepts. It deserves the best in show award for sure.

Agreed! Best in the Show AWARD TO CRYTEK!!!! One of my Favorite Developers now. They are right there with Valve in my opinion. We need more great developers, Iv lost respect for id little by little over time. Dunno we will see what their new game is as time progresses.

His voice was cracking up and he looked like he just ran a mile :LOL:

Cool interviews, but I've decided to calm down a bit about this game because...I don't want to get too hyped and then be dissapointed :O

Because they showed you some pretty trailers and screens and said some stuff that sounds good? :p :LOL:

Yeah I know what you mean. I've lost respect for them after Doom III no offense but it sucked. What has id done lately anyway, Q4 and Enemy Territory QW have other producers, if they don't come up with a really good game soon (an original one, not a sequel) then they can piss off permanently.

To think this is the first (or one of) DX10 game. I'm shocked. Imagine when hardware and developers really start to get into it.

Still, I can't comment how good that looks, the physical world especially. I can see some AWESOME FPS games on this. Gameplay looks scripted overload - like the ship sinking, building blowing up etc.
 
It looks very pretty.
Someone better make a Predator game with jungles looking that good.

No. When FarCry was released back in the day i like how much work CryTek put into the extra GFX features i also thought it was a great game especially when its their 1st game.

I like the way Yerli handles the interviews, not many developers say the things he says plus act freely like he does. I really like that about him, plus i mean come on just look at Crysis its ****ing insane.

Exactly. I mean Doom 3 did what it was suppose to it was fun shadows dark etc. But it wasnt even near Half-Life 2 or other GREAT games, it was just another game. Same thing with Quake 4. About ET:QW that looks good but still nothing like other games we have seen. Plus its not MADE by id.

I never thought Far Cry was anything special. Yerli does not make up Crytek, and I don't see how him handling interviews has anything to do with how great a company they are...but nevermind.

Jeesh Samon lighten up on Raziel, it does look awesome, just watch that new interview I found. I think it's perfectly clear for about the fourth time now that your not that interested :p
 
I don't mean anything by it, I'm just saying.
I watched the interview and I'm still not impressed...it looks wonderful, graphics wise - but having played Far Cry I simply feel Crytek don't have the skill to pull off anything wonderful gameplay/story wise.

Every time there's a Crysis thread, I'll throw my 2 cents around. :p

In the divx interview at 3:47, the guy says when it's going to be released. Despite listening to what he says about 5 times, I can't get it. It's got a "six" in the end, but I can't imagine how there's a "two thousand" in that.

EDIT: Maybe it's a fast "I've been told oh-six". Would make sense :).
 
New video interview was cool. Didn't realise every tree could be shot down.
Graphics look superb and top notch... i just hope the gameplay is at least decent. I hope the controls don't feel like a console game either... I could never aim correctly on Far Cry, just felt like it was a consle game when i turned etc.
 
The dude says that they were running the game on an X800. It seems it will be playable on PC's that could handle for example Oblivion, then.

Yeah, and that's not even DX10.. Imagine a computer running this game on MAXED settings with DirectX 10.. It'll look more realistic than real life!:LOL:

Cuz this game actually uses a very good engine..unlike oblivion over there with its gamebyro.
 
I didn't catch the guy saying it was on an X800, but if thats true it's pretty amazing! That means the game would look like that on the PC I have now.
 
Looks completley sick, I hope there is more than breakable trees and graphics that make this game so damn cool.

btw! where the heck did he mention anything about an X800 graphicscard?

EDIT: Crap :( just saw the video with the grenade launcher showoff and those explosions really look crap, even the physics react after the explosion which looks very bad :<
The first video with the jungle fight had great explosions without any of that crappy fire from hollywood movies, but I guess they changed their minds about that.
 
whoops, I'm afraid he actually said X1900 (ex nineteen hundred) [3:34 in the divx interview with the black guy] ;/ I don't know how I heard an X800 in there.
 
Ohh then It's confirmed, one single X1900XT/XTX can run Crysis on high settings as we've seen in the videos. They are'nt even running any dual core CPU's so I'm sure most people will be able to run this game as it's released.
And by the time it is, I'm possitive that the X1900XTX cards are quite affordable for any gamer :)

I've just started to save my cash for it ;D

I have to admit that my interest level on this one was very, very low a few days ago. I just read an article about it though which stressed it's "sandbox" like qualities and the "deformable" structures.

Now the only questions are to what degree is the game a sandbox and just how deformable are the structures. Once I know the answers to those questions and not just developer hype, then I'll truley know if I'll be getting, or more importanly upgrading for, this one or not.

No way in hell I'm gonna buy a X1900XTX.:p
I'm going for t3h DX10 stuff, even though I won't be able to use the DX10 vers until Vista is out!
If one, as myself, can only buy a comp three four years apart, I say, when you actually can one, spend spend spend and make sure it can hold on as long as possible!:naughty:

Anyway, I can't wait for this, unlike some naysayers here, I really enjoyed Far Cry and this looks even more fun..
I can't wait to blast them damn commies, and then ontop of that, I get to blast alien scum!!

Well sure, if the High-end DX10 card's are affordable the day Crysis is released Im probably going to buy one, but I have to buy a new CPU and another set of 512's to get the most out of the game.
My only issue is that I never got any work this summer, so where the hell do I get that kind of money :(


Edit: I wonder how the water looks in this game, next-gen water or not :D

I don't have any job during this summer either, but I'm simply saving up, 1000 kr bucks a month, my entire studiebidrag/barnbidrag :p I already have around 2000(kr, all numbers from here on are), so in about half a year I'll have around 8000, and my mother knows she can trust me with borrowing cash(I borrowed 3000 off her once and paid it ALL back) so hopefully I can get to borrow the missing cash to get a pretty good computer..
And again, I'm only talking about the computer itself, I'll be sticking with my current speaker and monitor for as long as I can.. I reckon 12000-14000 should be able to net me a pretty nice computer if I just buy at the best(and cheapest) places.

Atleast that's what I'm hoping for.
