Some are concepts, some are rendered scenes. Oh, by the way, hello everyone!

So are there ANY screenshots in there?

Nope.

Nothing to get excited about. Just some photorealistic renders.

But you have seen the tech demo, haven't you? Yeah, the engine is still pretty damn impressive. Also, read the information on the preview.

The concept art looks wicked! The screens do too, but seeing it in action definitely beats the pants off of any screens!

Me bro got a PCZone mag which had a big article on Crysis, I'm certain those ones are in-game.

Well they are...

Btw i hope people are reading the article. The thread starter should have posted it.

Looks awesome, those aren't gameplay though - there is actual gameplay ones in PC Zone mind, HUD and weapon in hand.

Not gameplay but INGAME screeshots.

I wonder what 360 games we'll see using the CryEngine 2.. I mean, can we expect EA to do a Crysis console vers, much like Ubisoft did Far Cry Instincts?
I mean, CryTek have stated themselves that they're also designing the engine to be used on consoles etc.

Com on nvidia..... unleash your DX10 card.......... :D

awsome

This game looks/sounds brilliant. Anyone else read the PC Ganer UK preview? Plenty of shots in there.

Now I just have to save up to buy one of those comps designed for Vista..:(

Too much Vista-exclusive stuff :(

But yeah, it looks nice...

So is Crysis going to be compatible with Windows XP? Or will I have to pirate... I mean buy Vista? I'll probably get Vista anyway though, just for DirectX 10.

$10 says same thing that happened to FC will happen to Crysis.

I am sure it'll work with XP, though in a scaled back way.

Sweet! Then the game will be the most beautiful thing on earth and have some seriously clever AI and a plot that, well, isn't stellar! I can't wait!

Mmmmm, looks pants-shittingly beautiful.

hmm...something about that statement...
it just doesn't sit right with me :p

yeah those shots look nice but i am also about to cry thinking of the requirements :(

ElFuhrer, it will be XP compatible, but then the engine will probably be quite a bit scaled down, but afaik it does have an DX9 engine..
But I have to get a new comp to replace my 3 year old(gasp) one and then it seems reasonable to wait with doing that til Vista has released.:)
And I don't think the system requirements will be all that steep, I mean, it has been touted as a Vista launchtitle, so they do also have to make it playable to as many people as possible who buy Vista imo. I'll be buying a maxxed rig tho, or building it myself rather.

Those screenshots actually made me gauk.. superb

The article in PC zone clearly states they are ingame screenshots if anyone doubt's it, those sun beams over the mountains, where describe in a dynamic day sequence.. as the transition of day changes from mid day to evening.. the ambient fog and light changes to create the illusion of moisture in the air exposing the sunbeams.

Mmm it's a beautiful engine, HOWEVER, I hope their soft-shadows are more like say Splinter Cell Chaos Theory(PC vers maxed out) because the softshadows in FEAR only became unclear depending on YOUR distance from'em, in real life shadows become unclear depending on the distance they're cast, no?:)

That is correct :), they fuzz and blur out over the distance cast depending on the angle of the light source, with long shadows the effect is most noticeable, cross fingers that they effectively impliment that. All there is to do right now is save up.

Seriously cant wait for E3 this year.. if crysis shows its face in action.

hmm..so a DX9 version of the game and a DX10 version of the game?
still...the way my PC stutters now with Source and BF2, i have little hope for this game to even run.

and so yeah i am gonna have to build a new PC as well.

Exactly.

THEY'RE PRE-RENDERED SCREENSHOTS.

I'll believe it when there's a hud and a weapon model there.

I've seen the gameplay vids, and they look NOTHING like that.

Well, I don't believe screenies released before a game, but FarCry is the most beautiful game to date (if you have seen it maxed out on a 1900xt you will believe), and there is no reason why Crysis should not surpass it. If that happens Crysis will be pants-shittingly beautiful indeed, no matter whether these screenies are true ingame or rendered.

People can argue that the gameplay in FarCry is sub-par (and as a connoisseur of first person shooters I will disagree) but arguing that the CryEngine is not the best engine for outdoor environments (and quite capable at indoor environments) is just plain stupid, at least speaking from a singleplayer perspective (I can't comment on how the CryEngine handles 64+ players in multiplayer, which the bf2-engine arguably handles quite well).

.bog.

This is definitely a screenshot. See it larger, splashed across a double-page spread in PC Gamer UK, and you'll know that's the truth. It's quite likely that this is a screenshot since the same location is shown in a definitely in-game screenshot in the magazine. This could be one too - it's very similiar to an in-game one in PCG.

Yeah, those PCG pics look much more likely than many other pics floating around to be ingame. And i think we can all be certain the pic of the shed in daylight is real. C'mon, PCG showed us the lil alien hiding in there! :D

It may sound daft.. but those screens deserve a musical montage.

What are you talking about? This is a new PC game we're talking about here; pre-rendered screenies or footage would be worthless. For PS3 demos, sure, but not for a PC engine.

You've seen the gameplay video, CRY2 is certainly capable of those kind of visuals.

i hope this crysis game doesn't have the shitty voice acting, laughable plot, and worthless multiplayer that made me stop playing the original

Flyingdebris, the plot has already been revealed, a spaceship crashes into Korea, and this triggers a war between NK(And China iirc) and SK(And the US), when suddenly the aliens also enter the plot through the spaceship.
Atleast that's how I recall it.:)
