Dead Space is looking well....pretty damn sweet

Lucid, no demo at all for the 360 or PS3 is planned, so I'd be surprised..

Really? I could've sworn they said they were releasing demos.
I think I read it in an interview sometime in the beginning of the year.
But, I guess things could have changed since then.

Watched 1:50 from the review and stopped to many spoilers. I have to get this!

You should really check out the 6 Dead Space comics, then check out NoKnownSurvivors, as they provide vital backstory for Dead Space, including the fact that the planet where the game takes place(Aegis 7) is in fact prohibited space, and by being there and mining that planet the corporation you're employed by is violating countless laws.

Yeah, this is one that I never thought I would be interested in but I totally cannot help myself! It looks really well-done and very scary too. Reminds me of Event Horizon and that gets me going every single time. Still, it is coming out in a flurry of great games and Fable 2 and LBP own the first two slots in my long list of definite buys. I will be putting this on my holiday list though. :E

Looks cool. Will be getting even though I suck at all horrors and will most probably scream my heart out.

I'm quite interested in this now. One of the things I loved about Bioshock was the lonliness and slow wanders throughout the empty, ruined hallways as it had such a great atmosphere to boot with it. If I can wander around a great big empty ship with some beasties to lurk waiting for me like something out of Aliens, then cool.

Will pick it up much later though, as this month and the next are going to ruin my wallet.

Ahh i know. I'm going to be spending so much on gaming in the months to come.

Are you talking about these?

Yeah, I just finished reading issue one. I quite enjoyed it, but mostly for Templesmiths work. <3

Gonna read issue two tomorrow, probably the rest aswell. (Until then, new Walking Dead!)

9.0 Presentation
A deep story and incredible atmosphere with tons of horror influences make Dead Space one of those titles that is a great starting point for a franchise.

9.0 Graphics
Visually striking, everything from the holograms to the Necromorphs is incredible. Pixilation during depressurization and mild slowdown crimp its style.

9.5 Sound
Voice acting is delivered beautifully, but it's the sound design that will have you jumping out of your seat and sending shivers down your spine.

8.5 Gameplay
A strong mix of action and exploration is only hampered by repetitive, though appropriate, backtracking and odd navigation issues.

8.5 Lasting Appeal
You'll have to play through the game multiple times to improve your gear and understand the full story. However, not being able to change your difficulty after you beat the game is a bad decision.

8.7
Great OVERALL

****ING WANT!

Finished the comic the other night and I thought it was pretty damn good, but again, the illustrations are really the strongest point but thats the artist in me speaking. Overall, a pretty good story and I look forward to continuing the bloodbath in two weeks or so. I just hope my 360 gets back in time...

According to a PCZ, they said that the mouse control is terrible. :(
If you want to check out the review, PM me.

Yeah but you can probably just get a joypad and play it with that, Resident Evil 4 on PC was crappy when it came to controls, why would Dead Space be any different, seeing as it somewhat mimics RE4s formula? The console versions have had no issues with controls.

Because it's on the PC, it should cater to the mouse and keyboard set up or just stay on the consoles.
I hate using gamepads. :(

Well, that's easier said then done if the developer wants to retain the scariness, the devs admit to for example deciding not to include a quick-turn button for the game because they felt it made it far less tense.

I have a bad feeling about the controls for the game. That kind of third person view seems quite awful to me. By the way, the monsters are pretty and bloody and gory but what I see in those videos is not impressing me too much. Nothing original, in my opinion.

yes the game looks awesome. i already got it preordered for the PS3. couple more days :D

What the ****? I thought it was out the 31st. Like they said a Halloween release or something. I'm losing it I swear.

They are going to withhold pc version for a while longer supposedly, so you might not want to cream yourself yet

What? Source?

I havent even heard of this game before, but reading this last page makes me WANT.

That's easily one of the coolest trailers I've ever seen. They nailed it.
