Dead Space is looking well....pretty damn sweet

They are going to withhold pc version for a while longer supposedly, so you might not want to cream yourself yet

I hope so, the preliminary reviews for the PC version say the mouse control is garbage, which is unacceptable on the PC.
Also, I don't see how using the mouse and keyboard would kill the immersion of the game. :|

Well, to be fair, RE4 suffered the same problem, so I wouldn't call it 'unacceptable', besides, do you honestly think EA gives a crap about PC-gamers these days when it comes to multiplatform games? The big money are at the consoles, so PC is something they just rush out the door.

Some games just play better with a pad anyways. For anything 3rd person i'll use a joypad if given the choice.

Damn, i cant decide if i should get it for PS3 or PC!

PC - Better GFX? Controls? (I Liked GOW controls on pc)
PS3 - 60'' screen! Crazy sound system!

Dunno?

Holy shit, that trailer was insanely good. Eurogamer gave the game a 7 btw but basically had the same fundamental faults with it that IGN and the other reviews had.

You can hook your PC up to your sound system, same goes for the big screen.

A week wont do shit to controls or really anything, it goes gold at the same time and unless they work hard on a 1st day patch( which they wont) nothing will be different a week later

Damnit I'm so looking forward to this. I'll be straight, there were scenes in Bioshock that made me jump. No other game has made me jump since, or for that matter, much before, but I haven't played FEAR, STALKER or all of Resi 4, and those titles are the type that stand out to me as the most common tension/scares types.

Anyway, I LOVED the atmosphere of Bioshock and all of the scares - from the Houdinis to the sculpture Spider Splicers of Fort Frolic - are some of my favourite parts of the game, so I simply cannot wait to get wandering around in Dead Space. I'm having some friends over on the night of release coz' I've got a free yard and one of them scares incredibly easy, not to mention he'll most likely be getting high at some point before he comes over (note: I'm not into that kind of thing), so I aim to get him freaked out pretty good.

The zero-g areas and the sheer size of the Ishimura should make for some awesome exploration.

If I'm honest with you, the interior zero-G parts aren't doing anything for me. However, I'm really looking forward to the parts where you have to scale the exterior of the Ishimura, avoiding asteroids and god knows what else.

Official X-Box Magazine gave Dead Space 6.5.. Haha..

Which is so funny because they gave Fallout 3 a 10, and having played Fallout 3, I can definitely say it does not deserve a bloody 10..

Doom Hill in space? I'm down. They're going to stick with the 3rd person though, aren't they?

Does anyone know if the PC version will have gamepad support? Because if it does I'll just use my 360 controller for it, since the mouse controls are "dogshit" according the PCGamer review. I'd rather not get it for my XBox because my PC has a much better sound system.

Sauce?

Gamespot gave it a 9, and IGN gave it a 8.6 or something.

Its basically a 7-9/10, so its definitely worth a look. And its a sci-fi resident evil basically, gets thumbs up from me.

Plus, this game comes out the same day FarCry 2 does, so im going to be torn...and will probably say 'screw the overdraft, im a student!' and buy both...

I smell fan service/pay offs. OXM never ceases to amaze me with their constant bullshit scores.

Having heard from a few people who've played it through(two reviewers), they say the story is alot better than Resident Evils has ever been, it doesn't feel so cliche and B-storyish as the RE games do, apparently, and for one, it apparently has a REAL ending, rather than a cliffhanger, which to me is a plus, I am -so- sick of cliffhangers..

Metacritic has a score of 89/100 with 14 reviews. Looking promising so far.

When I compared it to Resident Evil, I meant in the whole horror, by yourself sense.

If im honest, this looks like a space version of The Thing. HOWEVER, ill still get it because, well, its about time a game came out that could scare me.

Actually, if its scarier than the little girl in FEAR was for me, I might have a panic attack.

[Edit] I didnt realise RE games HAD a story. Never took notice of it, that bad. A story is almost the most important thing for me in a game, which is why Bioshock stands at my number 1 place, and if the reviews are right and the story of Deap Space lives up to the hype, ill be happy with spending my hard earned...*cough*...uni money/loan.

I can't get past the age gate. Nothing happens when I input my DOB, no button displayed to press...

Loaded up to the site, but none of the media would load for me. This is INTENSE YEAH.

Wait, shouldn't you yanks be playing this right now?

I'll be waiting until Thursday to pick it up since I don't have school the next day. That way I'll have all night to have my ass plowed by Necromorphs.

What's the EU release date?

Fockin' 24th. :( Same day as Far Cry 2 though, mind!
