That's hardly true. Gays are a natural part of society that have been around throughout most of history. Some cultures were open to this and some were not. Heck, there are even examples in the Bible where it can be argued that gay relationships were accepted.

Edit: Alright, I read a little more. The suicide study thing is ridiculous. First of all, I don't really trust it. But if it's factual perhaps there is an obvious reason for gays being more suicidal. Perhaps is it because they are discriminated against and hates by many people? Ya, I don't think I'd have a real positive outlook on life either if people hated and feared me, merely because of my sexuality.

ok, I myself didn't read all of what's in the link, I posted because I share pretty much the same views.

I think they are referring to the acceptance of gays socially, not politically.

anyway, why I really oppose it:
It destroys society, just like alcohol, drugs, and adultery.
now, it doesn't happen overnight, it takes alot of time, but these things DO destroy society.
now, if I gave examples and said why, it's probably gonna be offensive .. like "teh HELL!!!111 look your society is teh Fed up!!!11", so I'm not gonna do that.

ofcourse the second reason is .. it's 'Haram' aka illegal in my religion.
