It hurts the image of this community and this website. If I was to show this thread to say, the world, what would they think of us? Does he have the right to express his opinions? Absolutely. In that manner? Sure, though not many would listen. But unlike speech, the written word lingers, and beckons challenges and replies. And we saw that. Did it hurt me? Not a bit. But I wouldn't be as proud as I am now if the "attitude" (not people) like merc's pervades.
Edit: I wouldn't compare merc's particular diatribe to the levity of what people have said about STEAM or AvP or whatnot. This is deeper, and worse.
