Did you like Goldeneye Facility? I liked Goldeneye Facility...

Yeah I'd love to turn some of these maps into SP ones since I'm working on a SP mod.
 
Very impressive version of facility, it was my favourite map for goldeneye back in the day. Looking forward to playing it. :naughty:

Polyknetic, I like your version of the map also, I think you should try and get the hand railings joined at the corners, and replace some of the barrels with boxes in the corridor area.

polyknetic, your map is a good conversion but as you said.. it was rushed and thats why the textures wont be half as good as johnny's.
 
Nice map man really, are you used to the doom3 engine or sumthing by any chance?
 
Poly's map seems just as good, more mp then jonny's imho, jonnys would be a great sp probably because its grapically better....
 
Man poly's is very fun, servers need it.. i would very much like to play john's too.. release it!!!.. W0W does suck up time..

last time i spoke with him (tuesday i think) he said he was trying to get another beta out today.
 
Find him, and kill him!

Or, get him to release the map, either way - I'm easy :E
 
The map looks pure awesome. I'm a big fan of Facility aswell.
 
Yer it is a great looking map for sure... But we havent heard from johhny in over 5 days?? Maybe he's gonna suprise us and just release it tomorrow... *crosses fingers... And if thats not the case, then perhaps we should be sending out a search party?? :p

guys... I think we found him!

heh, hey all... Long week last week and a start to another crazy week... Many things have contributed to my lack of updates. Working ALL weekend. 9-9 Fri- Sun... 2 friends houses are under water here in Souther Cali so trying to help them and college just started up again today. I have some free time now so I am getting back to work. I have made some progress since two weeks ago, but now I am making my way down a raod where I think some of the major issues will be resolved.

Also, I am a very low self esteem guy... After seeing some of the other maps in production I kinda got on the low side and didnt think much of my current work. Everyone who has played it say they are having a ton of fun so I guess that is the important thing... I hope you guys like it and I wont release it till I think i have done the best I can to please you guys -- the fans.

I gave up on submitting it(even tho i doubt a remake would qualify anyway) and decided to focus on making it the best i can.

I just ask one thing: keep pushing me to get it done. As many mappers know. You start a map and sometimes you get other ideas and fogget about old maps. Anyways thankns guys and let me try and get a new update on Wednesday or Thursday depending how this week goes ;)

Your map looks absolutely incredible. Please don't stop with it but also take breaks if you need to. We support you 100%

Sorry to hear about your friend, but definitely keep working on this.. don't feel bad about it at all... it looks like an amazing map and I can't wait to get some playing time on it. :)
 
Keep working!! Look how long this thread is. That says it all right there.

Our area in S. California has been getting pounded by rain as well. No flooding or mudslides....yet.

Hey dude, really sorry about your mates.. hope all sorts its self out. And also, you should have about 9,500 tonne of self esteem, coz thats how many people have read your post, and looked at your wicked map. Keep up the good work dude.

Dude about your friend that is truly to bad and It is cool that you are helping him out. Also college will be college and you gotta do what you gotta do. Now about your map i would have to say looks awesome and I personaly have yet to see a map with this quality i mean dm_depot came out and it doesn't have as good of textures as yours (and it is good) i mean your map almost could pass as a doom 3 map in respects to just texture and lighting alone and then some, it is by far one of the better maps out there atleast from what i have seen and played. We understand that you are busy and that is cool just as long as in time sooner better on our half but as long as you get it out we will be happy.
 
Looks better than other one I saw, much better. I also liked to play facility in Goldeneye.

I WANT THIS MAP NOW! I just had a major flashback of 64 days, god, I played facility hours on end w/ friends. Oh, and dont listen to any1 negative, I took one look at the pics and immediatley saw the old one. PERFECT, get this sucker out man.
 
I love it, I played goldeneye the other day and this is a perfect reproduction of the map with some cool adons. I think you should extend the map to encompass the whole facility level which would be great. Definitely put this one in the map making contest, but if you get the whole level in, im sure this would be a winner.
 
Yeah man if you did the whole Facility you have like a 90% chance of winning i mean you have the best looking map graphically. Second its a remake of a classic that will warm anybodys heart yet itself is a smaller map then most so that my be a drawback in reguard to winning the contest yet if you had the whole facility then yeah you most likely i think would win seriously. However if possible get the basic version out to the public because we all can't wait. AND DON'T LOSE FAITH IN YOUR TALENT BECAUSE YOU GOT IT

Except as part of the map contest rules, it has to be your work, and you have to own the rights to the map you're making. If you've copied a map originally made by someone else, it's ineligible.

jk, yeah i dont think a remake would work.. i thought there were rules to only use textures from hl2.. but i love facility best map ever. :)
 
Yep, you can only use HL2 textures, but it looks like Johnny has done.

There's something in the rules about the maps being original, and as well designed and hopefully as good gameplay as dm_facility will have, it won't be eligible for the contest, which is shame :(
