Do you believe in, like, aliens?

Do you believe in aliens?

Yes.....it's the only way to explain the incredible lack of spelling and grammatical skills presented in this thread....

I don't know, both views are heavily based on assumptions.

Guys could we be a bit more civil please, less of the ridiculing and such. Losing your temper is a waste of energy and off-topic too. Aliens yeah, has anyone been probed or held against their will. I can't remember the film, but i remember an abduction scene where aliens held you down, clamped your eyes open, put things in your mouth etc, it was horrific! No wonder people are scared.

"Yes, and I believe they have come to Earth before"
maybe, and perhaps why we exist.

I'm willing to believe there are other intelligent lifeforms out in space. Have they visited here, be it past, or the present? I don't think anyone knows for sure. Crop circles are an oddity as well. There are obviously faked ones and then there are real intricate ones that seemingly can't be done by "4 men" in one night.

Crop circles are kind of a ridiculous notion. "We are a highly intelligent, Highly advanced alien species, we've travelled thousands of light years to find other intelligent lifeform to communicate with....but we only know how to bend plants"

Its the cosmic equivalent of peeing in snow.

If I flew to another planet, I know damn well I'd piss my name in their snow.

They are among us, just waiting to strike ....

I don't beleive they are hostile. Why would they be, what have we done to them? We're just kids compared to things that can travel through space. Alothugh, as I said earlier, I don't think space-travel is simply like, "lets go lightspeed". We have only just begun to reach into space, yet who ahs too say we will get any further? I doubt we willl ahve the ability to zoom through sapce, it is proboaly delicate and dificalt, even with *shudders at the term* flying saucers.

Yes.

From a mathematical and statistical standpoint alone proves that life is out there.

Well, just because they may be more advanced than us doesn't mean they would have a justified reason for doing this, even though it may seem to us to be a trivial thing to do for an advanced being. Who can know for sure who has done some of the more complicated crop circles that have been seen? For all we know it could be some people from earth messing with us using some kind of unknown technology, or it may be some other intelligent lifeform. Let me show you some examples.

Hard to explain what did this. I find it hard to believe a few humans on the ground did these overnight. But who knows? XD

Yes. Only trouble is, they're so impossibly far away from us that we'll never be able to communicate with each other. Ever.

Yes!

I mean, out of all of the millions of planets and god knows how many solar systems; what are the chances of there NOT being life on another one of them?

Yes, there are aliens, and no, they never have and never will visit the earth (the distances between the solar systems are far too huge.)

There are aliens, but they are not so advanced like we've seen in Independence Day,War of the Worlds etc...
There was a show on Discovery "Alien Planet"-is was cool but it was about 2 years ago...was about how we could explore a alien planet with two robots.Pretty cool.

The universe is so huge that we cant be it's only inhabitants. But its also so huge that it will take a very very long time before we will encounter another lifeform. I think we will probably become extinct before that happens :p

Are you talking about the Mars Exploration Rovers

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mars_Exploration_Rover

If so, ur a little out of touch;) they've been there for years.

For all we know, "aliens" could very well be humans. Maybe even having the same technology as us or even less. Maybe the Egyptians moved into space :p

My government teacher doesn't believe there are aliens/other life (even though the universe is how big again??). She said aliens are just science fiction and there is no other life. She also said something about "have faith". Lol. and I thought I was attending a public school

No he was talking about a documentary called Alien Planet which told the story of a ship sent to another solar system. The ship contained two robotic probes which are sent to explore a strange planet. The planet is shown to be inhabited by all sorts of weird creatures, examples: A giant creature that hides in the ground and has trees growing on its back, creatures that looked similar to the bullsquid that hunted in packs, a sea of gelatin which turned out to be alive and even intelligent life but without any technology.

You've been watching too much Star Trek:p .

I personally think that the aliens are already here:eek:

Gary McKinnon is my hero \o/

OK maybe I wouldn't go that far, but seriously ... with regard to NASA and the US military, the truth is in there.

What are you talking about?
Why do people keep saying that to me :(

Gary McKinnon hacked NASAs machines, looking for proof of UFOs. He found proof, too. Unfortunately the American military don't like people that know too much, so Gary has been extradited from the UK and nobody's heard from him since.

The timespan that intelligent life could exist is a mere instant compared to the vast time that it takes for life to evolve.

It goes something like
--------------------------billions of years of evolution----------------------------* <- the instant of intelligent life and its demise

Its almost impossible that another intelligent life would exist at the same instance in time that intelligent humans exist...

dont get me started in the possibilities of intelligent life not only existing in the same time period that humans are intelligent, but that they are intergalactic capable AND visit us at just the perfect time when we're still alive.

Like a lot of things, I think that it's the kind of thing we can't answer, and really shouldn't try to until we have more evidence.

First off, we will never die out as a species ever!:cheese:

Second, I bet you're one of those people that thinks all the people that have seen UFOs or claim they've been abducted are insane

Gah, I voted wrong, I was supposed to vote "Absitivly, but I don' think they've visited us yet.", which doesn't make sense anyway, but I voted the last option because in my haste I read "have" as "haven't"

Yeah, and the fact that when he hacked into the websites, his "print screen" ability was mysteriously locked? Even though the Feds didn't have the computer skills to keep the hackers out.

He was using a java app to remotely view the host screen, in a seriously reduced bit rate. He wasn't using windows at the time so on his own machine didn't have a screen grabbing utility.

I'm willing to believe the guy, anyway. The Americans gave a right bullshit story to get him extradited. They wanted him for something, and i'm guessing it's not his sexy body.

I bet he's either dead or the aliens are experimenting on him!

Well I am not going to go into detail, since, frankly, Im afraid of the government. All i will say is that a close relative of mine was in an extremely powerful position in US government in the 80s. He knows very well whether or not there is any government alien conspiracy, and i have over the years picked up several hints from him that highly intrigue me. When I see him next Im going to ask him about it directly, and I never plan on telling anyone what he says. I will leave it at that, and no, my post count does not indicate whether i am legitimate or not so please dont judge me by it. Dont think I'm just trying to draw attention to myself. All I'm trying to say is that I've shifted my position from skeptic to very unsure and wanting answers.

^I don't judge you. I for one think there is definitely something very weird going on but the truth is probably much more complicated and weird then just aliens:dozey: .
