Besides your health and mental stability, drugs are fine. Just something I like, health and mental stability, that is. The thing is, besides creating some good music, nothing good has ever come out of drug use.

What are you saying? Drug users are mentally unstable? They're unhealthy?

First of all, you're making the common mistake of lumping all the substances under "drugs" with some sort of generalized description. The fact is that many of them are wildly different in terms of their effects, their methods of ingestion, and their chemistry. The obvious result is that some are high-risk and some are certifiably tame.
Secondly, you seem to think that drug use is mutually exclusive to mental stability and health. Not only does this depend on the drug in question, but also the degree of moderation being employed.

To say you don't like drugs because you don't like mental instability is akin to saying you don't like twinkies because you don't like obesity. It's all dependent on how the person interacts with the substance.

The thing is, besides creating some good music, nothing good has ever come out of drug use.

Well, that's an awfully ignorant statement. I could lavish on its uses in other media, such as Oliver Stone's tripped-out Natural Born Killers, or the gonzo journalism of Hunter Thompson. But that's besides the point, really.
The "good" that comes out of drug use is for the person or persons doing it. What more is needed for this avenue of recreation to become legitimate? Nothing "good" comes out of me watching a footy game, playing a few rounds of deathmatch, watching a film, skydiving, or any other number of activities. That is unless personal enjoyment is valid enough.

A lot of good comes out of drug use. It makes people happy. Do you really think so many people would partake in a given activity if nothing good came out of it??? Do you see people randomly sticking their hands on the stove all of the time?
 
I'm guessssssssing that mr. Vass has never experienced drugs for himself.
 
Ironically, DARE just made me want to do drugs, whereas beforehand they never mattered to me one way or the other.

smoke pot fairly regularly, nothing else though atm. Here in nz its pretty standard, and very easy to get. Its pretty fun, but recently ive been getting more and more paranoid when high, so i might stop for a while.

I've been clean all my life, but by the end of this week, I hope to have a Morning Glory potted and flowering, a couple of seedlings, and a fresh packet of seeds.

Should be interesting.

Hmm, maybe i'll skip the storebought plant, and go straight to my own homegrown seeds.

Seems that most all storebought seeds have mercury or some other poison, so the first hour or so of the trip is just rapid vomiting and insane leg cramps. Almost all the trip stories on Erowid seem to confirm this.

Mebeh you should go grow your own Morning Glory Absinthe. After all, picking your own seedpods in the morning for extraction should look allot less conspicous than buying a pack of seeds every week :p

Anybody else turned off by cigarets? I've never smoked anything in my life (besides some rope when I was little, but we won't go into that), and mentally, I have no problem with taking a dime, grinding and shoving it into some whisky, and shooting it up, but the prospect of raising any sort of lit object to my mouth and inhaling just mortifies me.
 
They make their own kind of awesome. So, they are awesome, just a different awesome.
 
Never in your life can you have an intelligent conversation with a crinkly brown paper bag, until you take some drugs.
