Probably more like season 186, but of course I mean season 4 of the new Doctor Who. Does anyone know when this starts? I missed most of season 3 (Only one I ended up seeing was Shakespeare (sp?) one which sucked ass. I'm determined not to miss the next one, which shouldn't be too difficult as my shiny new Sky + lets me record it. I saw an ad for it today, said it was "Coming Soon", so lets just hope they're not on Valve time. There was a new assistant in it but the only other thing I recognised were the Ood (the things from Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit) which is nice; I liked the Ood.

Starts in the UK on April 5th, worth watching for the fact Billy Piper is returning.

You missed most of season 3? Man, it started out weak but the second half of episodes was the best doctor who of the last three seasons...

Blink, Human Nature, the Family of Blood, and the two-parter with the return of The Master were all brilliant.

It better be good, season 3 was ass with the exception of some of the later episodes.

The must have been brilliant to be better than Fathers' Day, Dalek and The Doctor Dances.

That makes me want to not watch it.

I think the new companion is the woman from the 'Rachnos (sp?) Christmas special, "The Bride".

I'm like the biggest Doctor Who fan in the world. I can't wait for this to return. :E

Series 3 was epic the whole way through btw. Mind you, I say that about most episodes. Not too keen on Catherine Tate from The Runaway Bride coming back though. D: More looking forward to Billie Piper and Freema Agyeman. Phwoar.

Catherine Tate? Oh for... I ****ing hate her :flame:

Now I don't want to watch it

It is her. God help us. And also, the latter half of season 3 was not the greatest ever. The episodes riomhaire listed are by far superior to every other episode since the new series began. But I do agree that the Master's arch was pretty awesome.

Tate, Ageyman (sp?), and Piper will all return in this series, which goes further to becoming reality that Tennant is leaving after the specials.

Damn Straight!

Anyway It's returning on the same date that the last torchwood episode of season 2.I can't wait for the next season of doctor who it looks really short but sontorans are coming back along with the ood.I am a big fan of doctor who especially Tom Baker. But season 3 was alright but my favorite it the School Reunion episode.

Nope, it`s returning the day after the last Torchwood airs on Friday, Who is on Saturday.

You know...just to be picky :D

Yep, they were better.

I have been looking forward to this all year.

Hopefully Davros will finally put in an appearance in the new series as he's well overdue.
Catherine Tate won't be too annoying as long as she isn't all shouty and hyperactive and has no input into the show other than acting in it. (Her own series is abysmal.) Also does anyone else think that the new trailer ends in the exact same way as the usual suspects?

The fan base has pretty much concluded Davros is the main villain in this series due to slip up`s from the production team, leaked costume designs etc.

April 5th? Safe!

Blink is truthfully the best episode in the entirety of the modern Doctor Who, and the Family of Blood duo? A near second.

Well that's good news as I assume more Daleks will be involved, for some reason I find them very cute (Anyone else?) Blink was a very good episode as I like it when there's actually some fear for the safety of the lead character which never really happens with the Doctor.

So are there any good rumours on how
Rose's return
will happen?

I think they should stop using Daleks. They ruin more and more every time they use them.

Yes, the Daleks are over-used. Dalek was absolutely awesome, Parting of the Ways was okay, Doomsday was good up until the millions of daleks arrived and Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks was crap.

Bad Wolf/Parting Of the ways were the best

She comes back from the void, seemingly because of the alt-universe has collapsed according to one of the UK TV Guides, and brings Micky Smith and her mum through as well.
She and the rest of his companions go searching for him or some such thing.
All rumours though, except for the Micky Smith and her Mum, they were seen on a shoot

They are using them while they still hold the license, with them being owned by Terry Nation`s estate, who have pulled that license from the Beeb before.

Maybe they are scared they won`t be able to renew it.

They've certainly given him good reason not to let them use the Daleks again. When the Daleks appeared at the end of Army of Ghosts it actually sent a shiver down my spine. Then when I watched Doomsday I discovered that these 4 Daleks, infact, suck.

Things like the above annoy me, it wasn't long ago that the void was sealed forever and travelling through it again wouldn't be possible. I'd agree the Daleks are overused but they're really cute and everyone loves them so I'd imagine it always helps boost the ratings. It's just annoying that they were apparently all wiped out in the time war but every season there's a 'wishy washy' way to bring them back.

Well if they are bringing back Davros, he is after all the bloke who created them, so this time it`s not really a "wishy washy" way.

Supposedly something happens that will undo all the work the Doctor has ever done. Which seems ridiculous. Has none of the Production Team seen Pyramids of Mars, or even their own The Shakespeare Code? But regardless, it'll be something like The Trickster from The Sarah Jane Adventures. Hence, Rose is technically never lost to the other world. Hence she is sort of flashing back.

Sounds fairly feasible to me... but we'll see.

In other news, we have all but one title for the series now:
  1. Partners in Crime
  2. The Fires of Pompeii
  3. Planet of the Ood
  4. The Sontaran Stratagem
  5. The Poison Sky
  6. The Doctor's Daughter
  7. The Unicorn and The Wasp
  8. Silence in the Library
  9. River's Run
  10. Midnight
  11. Turn Left
  12. TBA
  13. Journey's End

Episode 12's title is apparently too spoilerific to reveal yet. It's three words long and none of those words begin with the expected D.

So no Davros. No Daleks. Most people reckon Children of Time. But that isn't spoilery enough for me so my reckoning is The Black Guardian. Featuring the return of the previously unnamed Trickster from Whatever Happened To Sarah Jane?

God, that was geeky.

Well, for the title of Episode twelve, my guess is "The Time War", which is one of the ideas placed among the Who community at the moment.

Wikipedia said:
Georgia Moffett, who plays Jenny, is the real-life
daughter of Fifth Doctor actor Peter Davison. David Tennant described
the episode by saying
"We get to see the Doctor's daughter, played by the Doctor's daughter.".

The doctors daughter is the doctors daughter
in other words
Aaaaaw shit

You guys do know that the Doctor has had a daughter since the first episode, right?

Yeah whatever happened to her?
didn't she stay behind on that one planet
which means she might still be alive

She was dropped on Earth in the 22nd century I think... She wasn't a Time Lady and was only Gallifreyan. She met up with the Doctor in some spin-off media, but hasn't been heard of since.

Susan continues to travel with the Doctor and her two teachers until the 1964 serial, The Dalek Invasion of Earth. During the events of that story, Susan falls in love with David Campbell, a freedom fighter in the 22nd century. However, Susan feels that she has to stay with and take care of her grandfather. The Doctor, realising that Susan is now a grown woman and deserves a future away from him, locks her out of the TARDIS and leaves after a tearful farewell.[4] Carole Ann Ford had expressed a desire to leave the series as she felt the character of Susan was too limiting. Ford reprised the role of Susan on television in the 20th anniversary special The Five Doctors (1983), but no mention of David, or what became of him, was made.[5]

In The Curse of Fenric (1989), the Seventh Doctor states that he does not know if he has any family, which may indicate uncertainty of Susan's whereabouts.[6] In 2005's "The End of the World" the Ninth Doctor states that his home world has been destroyed and that he is the last of the Time Lords.[7] Although Susan is not mentioned by name, the Doctor says in "Father's Day" that his "whole family" died,[8] and in "The Empty Child" some dialogue implies that he is no longer a father or grandfather.[9] In "The Age of Steel", Mrs Moore asks the Doctor if he has any family, to which he replies "Who needs family? I've got the whole world on my shoulders."[10] In "Fear Her," the Tenth Doctor states he "was a Dad once," but does not elaborate further.[11] In "The Sound of Drums", the Tenth Doctor discusses with the Master the fact that they each chose their own names.[2] In Susan's case, it is unknown where hers comes from.

She will probably be mentioned in The Doctor's Daughter (I'd consider it a horrendous oversight if she wasn't) but I don't think we'll see her again in the series. Certainly not in this era.

I reckon that the Doomsday device that the Doctor set off during the Time War, wiped all Gallifreyans from time and space. How it missed the Dalek in Dalek and the Dalek Emperor in The Parting of the Ways remains to be seen...

Doesn't really matter, that's a particular piece of Dr Who history they could have avoided imo.

Yeah It's been left alone for this long after all.
