Oh... :( Go on and laugh...

Edit:That reminds me I do have a chance to go to London if I save up a little more money...I have some friends to visit there and I could visit some of you. :p

Its confusing at times, because I think with England its the opposite way round to the US. People in the south are apparently the upper class, rich folk and the north is supposed to be a bit backwards. But they no nothing....It ain't grim up here! :D

So you live in the northern part?YANKEE!!!!

Again with the stereotypes... :( We ain't backwards people!

Pff....Automatics are boring :p You have that little bit more control with a manual as well. Plus, for the boy racers out there, you can get better acceleration :p

shhhh got videos in the making with all kinds of cars ;)

I know... :p I was joking by the fact you said you lived in the north....yankee...

I failed my first drivers test for speeding in a school zone. The second time I took the test the instructor felt it necessary to give me a ten minute lecture on how lucky I was to have passed at all and how he was giving me a license because he was in a good mood. In reality I'm a very good driver :(

If you live in the US, ignore this, it's backward! I'd hate to see a US driver taking only this bit of knowledge to his driving test...

I failed my first test. I did much better in practice; I was nervous as hell.

The second time, I ran a red light and almost hit another car. But they passed me :p

P.S. young drivers are a scary thing in the US, considering the standards... :E

I'm learning to drive right now.

I have stalled a grand total of 3 times in about 12 lessons. Which aint too bad in my opinion.... :)

I have been told I am a natural at most of it.... yet I am still fairly unconfident behind the wheel....

Maybe its something to do with some idiot woman walking in front of me with a pram on my first ever lesson and making me brake heavily.... and stall btw.. :p

Not to scare you or anything  :cheese:

You bastards, now I am even more nevous!

*Goes and hides under a chair*

Don't go running scared...it makes Little Billy cry ;(

Seriously, you'll do fine. Just don't let the car riding from behind mind**** you. I know this from experience.

Heheh, don't worry about it. I'm sure you will do perfectly fine. Everyones nervous on their first lesson. And if the're not they are probably not all that safe on the road anyway.

Just listen to the instructer and try to enjoy it. Best advice I can give really. :)

Nah, don't be nervous. You'll do fine as long as you go in feeling confident and calm.

dont be nervous
I hav drive a car just like 5 hours in all my life so I am not a expert but still I think is not so nervous to drive a car

and if you crash the car dont worry cus is not yours! :p

Have fun driving on the wrong side of the road all the time... European newbies...

Well maybe not stuff like plunging toilets...but most stuff i can easily do. Thats cause i dont have a lack of confidence, like alot of people do.

I have a clean full UK DL. :) 2 years ago I took my first lesson with BSM Office. Total cost was £450 for 18 lessons.

I passed from the first go. :D

The driver instructor through out all my 18 lesson was the coolest guy I ve ever met, he is so cool that make you do things that you are not allowed to do in the road :D.

I used to do 70 Miles in some narrow streets :p, I used to put the music load and sing while driving, he taught me some professional tricks.

Man, we had fun during my lessons.

My friend was telling me about his driving instructer.

Apparently on his first lesson the instuctor said:

"slow down please.."

"no no.. much slower"

"yeah thats about right"

Now my friend said they were absolutely crawling along a 30 limit... and he was wondering why....

Until he looks at the instructor and sees him peering out the side window and then through the wingmirror at a couple of nice lookin girls they just passed!!!!

I am 18 and haven't even started classes. But after you are 18 in America you don't have to take the classes, just the test and I heard it was easy.

Easy isn't the word, its literally a case of drive around the block and "hey congratulations you've passed your driving test". I've been looking into it, moving out there and all.

I can use my UK license for up to a year out there then get a US one but seeing how easy the test is i'll just go do it as soon as im there. You can also do the test in an automatic

I now understand why there's no roundabouts out there lmao

If your talking about UK, if you get an automatic one you wont be allowed to drive manual (aka. Pretty much everything) cars.

No idea about the US though >.> Ritz need bed soon, 11am tommrow. I WILL DIE.

wow. i still haven't learnt to drive

good luck with your lessons. and remember, "A, B, C".

that's (from left to right): Accelerator, Brake, Clutch.

We learned "SMILE" -- Seat adjustment, Mirrors, Inside compartment, Lock doors, Engage seat belt... yes... engage. Darn acronyms. Then there was... mm... "SMOG" for passing -- signal/inside mirror/outside mirror/GO! -- and inside mirror doesn't even fit in the acronym :O. And "SMICTS" for intersections. Not to mention all the crap acronyms that actually had to do with HOW to drive. They also taught us to look out for snipers, chargers, and space invaders, because it's a dangerous world out there..... Sick driving school freaks :D.

But don't worry. Lessons are great as long as you don't start laughing whilst driving .

[edit] Oh yeah. We also had to talk to ourselves OUT LOUD while driving -- "Stale red! Sniper left! Charger right! Mirror! Left-right-left-center!" Now I don't feel safe driving without talking to myself in my head. Driving school ruined my life :(.

I don't like driving, prefer to walk or take a taxi. Only learnt cause I was going to the US and there's little alternative where I was heading. I'd be happier if I didn't have to drive again.

Lock doors? Must be due to the mass suicides lately involving people diving out their driving seats while doing 90mph on a dual carriageway.

J/k.

But why lock doors? lol

Edit: Oh yea and isn't the old MSM (Mirror, Signal, Manouvere(sp?)) easier? lol

How come you didn't move then?? Im moving out there myself in prolly about 2/3 months. I can go anytime I want really, just not in a big rush at the mo.
