Look, it's not my fault if you want to do something as stupid as write off the game on the basis of one teaser trailer. If it didn't work for you, fine. But that doesn't mean you or the rest of the naysayers in this topic aren't being premature. At least a proper trailer showing some semblance of gameplay would have given you the bare minimum of justification for your complaints. But this is not currently the case.

I read on the 3d Realms forums something about January 11th should have another trailer.

They also said that the video seen in the teaser is "in game".

Duke had one of the best RPGs of the time. None of this slow-ass missile shit; it was basically CTRL and things go BOOOM.

Just wanted to point out the sweet lighting effects as well as the fact that ALL of the graphics in this teaser are in real time and NOT pre-rendered. (The developers have repeated this multiple times at the 3drealms.com website).

Unfortunately she died a horrible death when the first game were scrapped. However I wouldn't be surprised if we'd see some sort of female lead in DNF now, probably even "Bombshell", as she was called, could make a comeback.
