Duke Nukem Forever trailer released tomorrow...

Alright everyone STOP ****ING JUDGING BASED ON A ONE MINUTE TEASER.

It has me wanting a full trailer, and that's all I'm going to say.
 
I wonder how on earth this game can ever live up to the expectations. Every week expectations become 1% higher, so the longer they delay the game the more impossible it is for the game to please anyone.

Not really. I'd be happy as long as they gave us a game with classic Duke style.
 
Looks like crap! I can't even imagine how this could even possibly be good though... I played Duke 3D enough when I was little with cheats on and enjoyed it but I just can't see this one being anything but crap... and this "TEASER" pretty much confirms it. :p Seriously if you're going to delay for years and years and years because of an engine, you better be ****ing sure it doesn't look FIVE YEARS OLD before it's even out! And somehow in 10 years the sound quality of his voice hasn't gotten better either.
 
The game looks great to me. I'm hyped.

amazing how you pass judgment on the whole game off a minute teaser. the internet is a funny place, theres a lot of criticism about this teaser which there was bound to be but the fact people are saying IT LOOKS YEARS OLD is horse balls. theres not enough there to even begin to pass comment on the graphics

i was impressed by it. its nice to have something to go on to know its still in existence
 
I lold, still got that classic duke feeling. Despite the winers this is officially awesome.
 
The trailer absolutely didn't impress me. I don't get why everybody is so thrilled. I played Duke 2, DN3D, etc, but that was back then. I expect a little more from games now than just brainless shooting.

It better be freakin' long, after all this development.

Hey, DN3D was more than just mindless shooting. It was brilliant in its day.
 
I wasn't impressed by that trailer, afterall the 2001 trailer showed much more (and in part revealed there actually was a story) in way of gameplay.

BTW, does Duke look slimmer
 
Atleast the blood looks nice. So what if it looks like shit? Oh wait bros before hos == graphics before gameplay... I just wanna see some gameplay footage before making any comments.
 
Trailer looks okay. Duke does not. Am I the only one that thinks he looks like 60?

How many times must it be said? THIS IS A TEASER... Teaser != Trailer. Teasers exist basically to show that a movie or game is on the way and to begin the initial hype. Unlike trailers, they don't usually show actual content or story. Broussard did say an actual trailer was on the way.
 
I thought the graphics looked ok, though a bit too shiny and the amount of bloom was over the top. But Duke is all about over the top mindless violence... with tits.

Plus, it looks like my 7800GT wont die trying to run it :)
 
They will probably release an actual trailer with more gameplay footage pretty soon.
 
Lets all join in, the not impressed this won't deliver band wagon :p. I think people are just copying what the last person said or something? because there's an odd echo in here.. Even though I don't know how anyone can conjure up any kind of opinion of the game from that one teaser.
 
It's more the "omg, Duke has returned! I love him so much, cause he used to touch me at night!" bandwagon.

But you're right that we'll have to wait for some more media.

You think they're not going to change it up? Come on. I know they said the 2001 trailer doesn't reflect the game any more, but surely it's an indication that they're going to try and keep the gameplay suitably updated. I expect the game to be fun, frantic, and over-the-top, but not really "mindless".

And I still fail to see how you can assess the game's quality having seen only one teaser trailer that showed zero gameplay.
 
Come on, what do you people expect from a teaser? Gameplay footage? Jeez :|

It looked fine for a game in production. Graphics did look iffy, but if the gameplay is half as varied as that old trailer suggested then it's amust buy for me.
 
I really don't mind the graphics even if they are a bit dated (I'm waiting to see more). You'd think people would be happy the game's not pushing visuals that require you to donate a kidney for a new computer. How many copies has Crysis sold again?
 
I'd say it's fair, considering the amount of time it's been in development ;)

People are expecting something epic after all these years. It seems that all we'll get is a fun game (I don't doubt it), but not ground-breaking.

There's a difference between a fan and a fanboy. No one is claiming that this game is going to be better than any other. Those who are looking forward to it are hoping that it stays true to Duke Nukem 3D.

Yeah ****ing right. I don't even consider myself much of a Duke fan.

Look, it's not my fault if you want to do something as stupid as write off the game on the basis of one teaser trailer. If it didn't work for you, fine. But that doesn't mean you or the rest of the naysayers in this topic aren't being premature. At least a proper trailer showing some semblance of gameplay would have given you the bare minimum of justification for your complaints. But this is not currently the case.
 
I dont get how everyone is judging the graphics by what was shown in the teaser. For one, 80% of it was either black screen or Duke on a work out bench, which shows absolutely nothing. Secondly, the brain alien thing looks great, better than the Crysis aliens looked imo.

And wtf is this shit about gameplay? We havent seen or heard a god damn thing about it, so how the **** can you guys say they're bringing nothing new? And the time spent in development is not a 1:1 correlation of how awesome it will be. They tried out some things, realized they wouldnt work, and scrapped their whole project so they could try again. Its not like they have been working on the same game the whole time... The only thing that is the same at this point is the name.
 
Too many aliens with tentacles... it's time to move on now. They should have realized this over the past 10 years.

To be fair, the Octobrains were in Duke Nukem 3D. Why should they scrap one of their original aliens just because games between now and then have used similar monsters/aliens?
