Also: Anyone who thinks that CS:S will be utterly and completely destroyed, annihalated AND vaporized in under 0.3 SECONDS because of this, is a nub.

If you're so damn good, you know how to own with other weapons aswell.

Christ, they haven't changed the gameplay so you can fly around shooting people from the sky, drive vehicles, and get automatic headshots.

Now, stop whining and go back to your precious 1.6...
 
I remember a guy on xfire who totally quit css (atleast he said he would) because of the new ipod thingy on the Elite model. He said it would completely destroy the gameplay because now it could be seen much better in the dark.

This is good fun, i've already changed around - using the shotgun in office or just running around with the Compact.

Hopefully it'll make the game a bit less M4 vs AK...

well as far as I understand from recent news...Valve pussed out and aren't doing a full fledged release yet and instead will be doing a public beta test, wether or not that beta test will be released today I don't know....

download the beta, run it, go to Servers. Bam, a list of servers with it.

Btw my hope is that now css splits off into two versions. The updated and improved same old cs 1.6 that we used to play until today today, and the new version with new gameplay features. I seriously hope that this new version sets off for big changes and will call itself Counter-strike 2.
 
Well that was weird.
I love the pricing and all (but seriously, changing the bind on the equipment menu? It just nags me to press b,6 instead of b,8). But it's made my CSS kind of jumpy. Not laggy, but the screen and players flick about like smooth was off or something. Could just be the servers laming up mind.
Didn't ruin my reg too much though, got a high score. It just hurts my eyes :(.

I say VALVe keeps the two seperate, but stops the jumping on both. And the lag on round restart on most servers with this dynamic beta. Then it'll be good to go.

Maybe this is the beginning of a new-ish CS!

I haven't gone back to normal CS:S since playing this beta.

It just works sooooo well and makes the game so much more interesting...(Glock and USP first round ftw!)
 
I hope to god Valve continues to try new things in this beta. If they keep it as a seperate game they have set themselves up perfectly for it. There are sooooooo many things they could try.

Has anyone confirmed that the beta will stay seperate from regular CSS? Someone should send an email if not.
 
They say in the latest steam update that this is a beta (updated daily to test the system) before it is released. So I don't think it's gonna be split off. I was hoping for the same thing. :(

does this mean armour is just going to end up massively expensive? who doesnt buy teh kevlar and helm??
 
Me not anymore, normal kevlar ftw! :p It's dirt cheap and helmets don't help agains rifles anyway.
 
I say, CSS is shit anyway.

Keep 1.6 for the hardcore cyber atheletics scene, and be a bit more outgoing with CSS.
 
pretty weird that they also decided that the average css player is too stupid to buy ammo themselves
 
And your to stupid to recognise the real reason why they've made ammo free.

Imagine when the prices get updated and you go to buy some secondary ammo for your USP/Glock in the first round and find that you can't because everybody bought it the previous week...

So the CSS Devs thought,

"Oh wait, EVERYBODY BUYS AMMO! D:"

And made it so that you only have to buy the weapon and you get free ammo and when the round ends you get restocked automagically.

i agree 110% but with one flaw. its a great idea and all, but why wouldnt you like you know, apply to current servers on current version of css instead of making a whole new version of css for the beta. Other than that, ****ing kick ass. yes, hopefully now it will be more than ak - m4a1 fights constantly.

They will be merged. This is a beta to test the system.
 
This is going far better than expected :D

The prices of the AK, M4, deagle, have went WAY up and yet they continue to rise! I wonder how high they'll get :D This is exciting.

I was playing earlier and saw a variety of weapons being used, I love this.
 
ROFL deagle @ $2922 and glock at $-476!!!! Though you can't buy glocks anymore heheh.
 
On the servers I've played on it's still the old prices. Has it not been implemented on all servers yet, or what?
