I think IGN are telling fibs.jmjneary said:well this means all these companies complaining about not enough space on the dvd disks are going to have to eat their words because if a game that apperently has the biggest world ever can do it they can to

yes, hell .. doesn't xb1 support dual-layer ?Gargantou said:The XB360 can use DVD9s for its games, right?
Well, after the trial-by-fire that was the PS2... it should be a breeze. Still, you're correct in suggesting that it won't be as easy to code for as the 360 if only because the 360 and its dev kits were created by a major software company. I'd say that the difference between the 360 and the PS3, in terms of ease of use, will be much smaller than the difference between the Xbox and the PS2 (no contest whatsoever).Gargantou said:It's still to be seen how much better hardware tho, and there has been reports(industry leaks, so nothing Official) that the PS3 is hard to code/develop for, and good hardware is nothing if it's hard as hell to code for..
i dont understand how you think the ps3 will cost $400 to buy but what ever you say. on another note a couple of months ago i head of a digital tape looks like vhs that holds 300gb is this true cant find anything on it.OCybrManO said:$400 Blu-Ray player (the PS3)

OCybrManO said:Oooh... a $700 HD-DVD player... compared to a $400 Blu-Ray player (the PS3) that is probably going to be selling out faster than Sony can supply them? Yeah, I can see how HD-DVD players are going to completely destroy the PS3 in terms of sales. Seriously, the industry doesn't work like it did before Sony became a major content providor and dominated the gaming industry. Now, Sony owns huge movie studios and game developers... and has many others following behind them. Betamax lost because it didn't have support from content providors and it couldn't hold longer movies in the beginning. Now, Sony has the support of all but maybe one or two big studios and more storage space. If you combine that with a cheaper player that can also play DVDs and next gen games, why would the average consumer support HD-DVD?
EDIT: Also, do you remember the CD? Yeah, Sony and Philips worked together on it. Oh yeah, don't forget the 3½" floppy... and MiniDV... and they also helped with the DVD specifications after they abandoned the MMCD format.
Exactly... welcome to 2003 America :cheers:Spicy Tuna said:me thinks that only in America, they have this 10cd (Utk4 anyone) problem, in Europe (atleast in Germany) most games come on a DVD which is good imo
There's a mod doing that, I forget what it's called, thoughGargantou said:The XB360 can use DVD9s for its games, right?
I.e. 9 gigs ones, I'd pe pretty surprised if it was bigger than that tbh..
Also, Daggerfall has a far larger world than Morrowind and Oblivion too, but alas, far far faaar less detailed, but then again, it IS an ol' DOS game, I wish they'd do a new ES as big Daggerfalls but ofcourse with Morrowind/Oblivions detail.*Dreams*
