Sorry the old thread had a bad poll. Here's the new one.

What would you guess is the sum total of the data that you have illegally downloaded over yourlifetime? This includes software, music, movies, porn, books etc.

I would say $0 because I never illegally download games or music. But I'm sure at some point I've used something that is illegal.. I'm pretty sure my copy of Doom II was not purchased.

By now the value I say would be, inestimable.

I dload alot, but theres alot of people that make me look innocent

I get a decent amount, nothing to expensive though. Oh wait, how much is Photoshop CS2 running these days?

I'm not answering this thread.

I love the FBI. I love the Police. I love the FBI. I love the Police. Don't come to my house. I love the FBI. I love the Police.

:cheese:

five or six hundred dollars for us yankees.

Dunno, the only things I get really are hardware monitoring apps and other utilities that I REFUSE to pay for (partitioning software, DVD burning software, those kinds of things), and a game or two, GRAW being the only I can remember :/

I downloaded some game's to see if they were worth paying for, they wern't. :|

I've downloaded a handful of games, probably around $300... so far every download has proven that I indeed, should not have bought the game and didn't... If developers don't release a demo, they should expect higher piracy...

Another interesting poll would be to Estimate your potential pirating fines. Those would be some hefty numbers.

Through music and editing programs... over $2000.

That last answer should have a >, not a <.

I don't know the value of my pirated data. I'm not entirely sure if I have stuff that can be considered pirated anymore. Mostly I just use GIMP, OpenOffice, and an Internet radio...

demo's can make the game look good by putting the best bit's in.

A few games, half of which I never even use or play.
Few movies, because I missed them in the cinema and the dvd aint out yet.
HiRes RedvsBlue episodes.
All Mythbusters episodes.
And ofcourse, quite a lot of porn.

Photoshop + Premiere + Couple'o'games.

I like the "I wanted to see if it was worth paying for" argument that people use. If you like a game, and you have it on your harddrive, admit it.. You won't be paying for it any time soon.

3d modeling aps really really bump it up for me. Otherwise I'm not that bad.

Well I don't illegally download anything anymore, and just reformatted. At this point I have 0$ of stolen crap. Meaning nothing. But in the past I would have to say somewhere around the 501 - 1000 range

that, plus photoshop, plus endless GBs of music, plus a few other expensive programs probably kicks it up to 3000-10000$ for me.

Something around $565,000. I lost count when the P2P site shut down my uploads.

Demos almost always put the first level, which is the first thing you'd play if you downloaded a game and decided it was worthless.

Depends on how you look at it.

I look at what artists other people are listening too and then download their CD. If I like it I go out and buy it, if I don't like it then I delete it. I've found out most of my favourite artists in this way and have spent 100's of dollars on CDs. However I personally don't see this as stealing.

If you count all of the CDs I have downloaded and deleted then I would have some stolen content. I am like Raeven0, I use free software mostly. My final total would be near $100.

Easily above 100,000$. I've got some server O.S.' here that sell for 25,000$ each :|

some of the software i've tried out is worth a couple g's each, so that adds up quickly. sure, i tried out PS and Adobe premiere, which i think is $2500.

probably over 10k.

This thread reminds me of a guy who had 25 TB worth of fully ripped DVDs, gigantic amounts of music and a few server O.S.' (this is where I got those from).
He always carried a big-ass magnet with him :p

Or the second level.

Edit - is this thread making anybody else paranoid?

>10k

Mostly because of Maya 7 Unlimited ($7,000) haha.

I have never downloaded music illegally. I don't even know how to lol.
