Insurgency Mod; It's become a household name among avid Steam users. This Source Engine modification has been hailed as one of the best looking concept driven games under development for Source users - That goes without saying that it is an extremely beautiful game visually, full of rich detail as well.[br]Today, HalfLife2.net brings you an exclusive interview with Jeremy Blum, Insurgency Mod's project lead - Also, Jeremy was kind enough to supply us with six new screenshots, showcasing their newly implemented phong shaders and HDR lighting. Now, the main focus of this interview is to establish why the team has been a bit quiet lately, which was sparking rumors that the mod was stopped dead in its tracks. So, this is an in-depth progress report of sorts for the community to see.
HalfLife2.net: When can we expect a fully functional website, complete with forums to express our utmost feelings and all[br]We plan on releasing the new forums and at least a temporary website by the time this interview is released. In these new forums we showcase a new “style” and we've preserved all our original members. So, all of you that were eagerly waiting for Insurgency before can re-join our community with ease. We look forward to re-acquainting ourselves with our community as it’s been a while.
Don't worry. Information on the mod itself is also in the interview, which you can grab herehttp://www.halflife2.net/2006/11/insurgency-mod-interview/.[br]

[br]Additional news, "tester logs"http://forums.insmod.net/index.php?showforum=25 have been added to the forums - Just as we've seen before with "developer logs". Of course, this doesn't mean screenshots will be piling up, and valuable information will pour out. There is still an NDA the team has to abide by...[br]So, to quickly review the main topics I've addressed in this post:[br]Interview here

When I first played it I though it would be boring and slow as hell, it's not, it's really fun and entertaining.

If you guys want to see impressions from our testing team, whos logs we do not censor, you can check out our forums. We have a Tester Logs forum filled with information and opinions from the testing process :)

One of the few mods I will play when it releases, gj guys I hope it plays as well as it looks. I originally had my doubts about some of the npc features I read about a long time ago like tanks that run on a set path, are those still in? Anyways nice stuff, cant wait to try it out.

This mod is another case of "RELEASE THE ****ING THING NOw YOU DAMN BITCHES".

Ok off for my testicle exam now.

its still in a pretty early phase ... guess it will take a while until release.
but yea, good gameplay so far :)

Very nice interview and great news to see the mod back on track. Great job guys.

Pretty early phase? oO Since when is it being developed? Don't take longer than HL2, pls. :dozey:

A valve finishing stage (Ie, 2 years?)

Or a finishing finishing stage, a few weeks?

Well, between both, but leaning towards the finishing finishing stage ;)

Yes DelaZ.
Check out the forums too! Havin' Fun testin. Don't ask for the beta neither.

It's been awhile, been following this mod since the summer before HL2 came out.

Roll on.

Good news. I hope they have the flury of maps on release they are hoping for.

Actually I don't get where you get the the idea that it's in an early phase, it's in a finishing stage to be honest.

That hummer is way too small, and that mini car is too big, the benz is also too small. I remember shots of the tanks aswell, where they were too small aswell. You need to adjust your scales on a lot of props imHo. mod looks great though.

Excuse me, but we aren't doing US Army, we're doing US Marines. There's a big difference.

then use marpat Camo!!! duh lol
seriously though - I'm not criticising for the sake of it - the USMC model is weak and could use a lot of improvement

Really refreshing to see a mod that isn't cookie-cutter City 17 stuff.

This thing will be great, I just know it.

Don't rush it, do it nice.

Blimey, John/Skeletor, mind stretching the forums some more? :p

lol they fit nicely for me :p
a polly logies for the inconveniences droogs

The interviewer was a bit of fag - joking about a dead team member, and about the relationship bitween Insurgency and Valve.

And what exactly does that has to do with his sexual orientation?

Mod looks and sounds like it will be tons of fun, so bring it on!

He didn't intend it that way...

Skeletor, we are using MARPAT

Wow, loads of original content, looking really great - hope it plays as well as everyone says it does :)

I am curious, what was meant by the comment "dead in the water - literally in some cases"? I'd seriously hope nobody would have the disrespect to use that statement as an allusion towards what it could be, but unfortunately that's what it looks like.

I figured he was jokingly referring to the fact that some community members may have thought the team was literally dead, with no intention to reference a desised team member.

Umm if the insurgency team hasn't complained about it why does everyone else feel they need to do so on their behalf?
