fighting isn't worth the legal trouble

So instead of a game nerd you are now... what, a film nerd?

And I believe vegeta was pointing out that since you're on a game forum, calling everybody anime nerds is misplaced aggression.

I like some video games. That doesn't make me a nerd, not by far. Wouldn't make you a nerd, or absinthe a nerd. Even frequenting a video game forum does not make you a nerd.

I'd even say you weren't a nerd, but then I saw your post count and saw that your moniker was Vegeta.

Honorable transition, good sir. But it begs the question as to why you're even still around here if it's just so detestable to be a fan of games.

You could say a film nerd, but I just don't fit the criteria of a nerd, I'm afraid. Working on and loving something technical isn't nerdy. Notice in my earlier description of a nerd, I didn't mention anything about that.

Again, what the **** are you bashing anime "nerds" for in an HL2 forum?

Actually, why the hell are you going off about nerds any way? What the Hell was the prompt for this?

BTW Dictionary.com could classify you as a nerd.

Because it's a fun waste of time while I'm sick and have nothing better to do.

Except it's not where I'm from. Genius.

You'd think that somebody on a pedestal above nerds would have better things to do than act like an internet thug trying to compensate for his penis with an online one. Oh, how little I know, it seems.

Fight, Fight, Fight, Fight

Glo-Boy, for instance, appears to need a good, firm punch in the face. :)

can we get back onto the subject of ME now?

I get to stay home for 5 more days and had a great time staying at home by myself today.. Slept in, did yard work, and did whatever I wanted for the rest of the day.

I actually went swimming today while everybody was in school and it felt soo good having the pool all to myself and no cars driving around, not a bother in the world. Two girls (that i've never seen in my life) actually stopped by my house today talking to me about what happened.

Ooh, nice one.

1.) I turned them down.

2.) I don't major in game development anymore, in part because I hate nerds so much that I don't want to have them as my colleagues for the rest of my life.

3.) Now I'm double majoring in film and visual effects.

wtf...im into game design so I take offense to that...and why would you turn down the very rare opportunity to work for a gaming company?

Did you not watch cartoons when you were young? I was 10 when I watched DBZ. I was 10 when I first surfed the web. I kept my name. Why? Because I don't care about morons who not only assume someone likes something but use that as in INSULT. Try harder next time.

you pee'd in the pool, didn't you? DIDN'T YOU!!

I once touched myself in a pool.

Is he joking? HehehehehehAHHAHAHAHAAHh

LOL, some pools in germany or somewhere had a chemical added to the water that changed into an opaque purple colour in the presence of ammonia (shit and piss) so it was obvious who had relieved themself.
(sorry for going off topic, i just need to add that fact)

lol. i heard about that when i was a kid, so before i let it all out in a pool, i would disperse just a little, and then study the water around it, to see if any color came up, if it didn't i would proceed to unleash the whole reserve. i never once came across a pool that had that chemical in it though.

Ah, see you handled this wrong. What you do is shrug it off and walk away, sure it looks like you are a pussy, but dont worry, thats what off campus assault is for. You follow him home, jump him without witnesses, and give him the thrashing of his life.

Next day, he comes to school (if hes lucky) all bashed up. He wont be talking shit about how he "beat" you during the fight in school. And ofcourse everyone will want to know how he got all bruised up, but his pride wont let him tell them. And you keep silent, thats a show of class.

This is all for future ref ofcourse.

That's the semi-pussy approach.

The right thing is to punch him in the face at that moment, regardless of the consequences. He deserves it, and that's all that matters. It gives you a feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction, even if it may adversely affect your life. Being a good person is not only about doing well in school. Sometimes you are forced to compromise yourself as a student, as in this situation, to achieve another very important end.

My parents ideology in fighting in school is, "You may fight for self-defense, for good reason, we won't be angry, as long as you keep up the good grades!"

I have gotten into a handful of fights. Last one I have ever had was in 9th grade. I always fought on the spot, never faced any judges, tickets or anything... just the school discipline sytem, which is quite a lot of bullshit. Both participants will always be in trouble.

I would love to see two teachers go at it and see their excuses. Or a school administrator for that, because they enforce the "no fight" rule.

Can you please explain to me how repeatedly punching a fellow human being in the face is in any way being a good person and reaching an important end?

I'm not suggesting he should have ran away. But apparently he kept on hitting the guy even though he was fighting back. How is that in any way honorable? I think it's terribly unreasonable, and anyone who has taken a martial art - especially for as long as I have - knows that it's absolutely crucial for your honor and your survival in our society to:

1. Never be the first to strike (BF2slut did a good job on this one)
2. Be as quick as possible in your defence. Repeatedly punching someone is not defence. Grabbing someone's hand, flipping him over your shoulder (Without hurting him too much) and locking him on the ground is more impressive and more acceptable. (BF2slut failed, and that's why he's suspended)

The only justified violence is in self-defense, I think that says something about violence. If there was none of it in the first place, we wouldn't have these problems. I can't understand why people support violence at all really. It's very confusing.

The problem with that is you won't see two teachers go at it, because they, unlike you hormone bags, are much more reasonable.

Deal out justice, teach him respect. Can't just let people run over you.

I was unaware of this. He still got what he deserved, though, although it may have been slightly excessive and not worth it.

True. I am unable to do what you described, though.

Unless you need to intervene for someone else's self-defense. But usually, yeah this is true.

Also note that I regard defense of property to be the same as self-defense. This isn't very relevant to the conversation, though.

Well, maybe BF2Slut is not some master martial artist. You tell him to "grab his hand and flip him over". His method of repeatedly punching him when the guy came back for more is his own self-defense. Self-defense is self-defense, to protect yourself by best means possible. Isn't that why you take martial arts? You don't know what's coming, his adrenaline was kicking, survival kicks in. I know that sounds lame, but that's how it is.

Okay, then I encourage everyone to take martial arts, because apparently people don't know how to control themselves without it. I understand he was probably all doped up on adrenaline, and I hope that he wouldn't repeatedly punch someone if he was in a straight state of mind, but I'm still a bit appaled at the reactions he's raised.

damn? where did you grow up?

a little fight is ok at least once a year so have something to laugh about later on.

I understand your reaction, but you've got to give the guy the benefit of the doubt. I am assuming he doesn't have any type of fighting experience. I mean like martial arts and stuff.

Fighting, like a lot of things, is a skill. People take different styles of fightings for offensive, defensive causes. The best way is to end it all quickly and most safest. A lot of inexperienced people who fight, fight "blindly". From my opinion, when learning a style of fighting, one gains more knowledge on how to handle situations when in a squabble. Just like driving a car, the better driver is the one taking driving lessons opposed to the one that isn't

My views are mainly influenced by the San Fransisco Bay Area, mainly Berkeley. If you know a bit about american culture during the 60s, you should understand where I'm coming from :).

In addition, my friends (females) strongly support me on my views, especially since I have not met a single male who does not have as deep of a hatred for violence.

You guys need to read up some Ghandi.

I'm enough of an asshole to get girls ;), I'm just a very peaceful one. So far, the girls I've been crushing over admire me for my phylosophy.

Hey.. guess what? You're ALL nerds because you're having a flame war on a frigging internet forum!
In fact, you're all nerds because you get so excited at the idea of posting a hostile post that you get waaay out of control, bringing on constipation of the brain, and diarrhea of the mouth- so STFU already and accept it. You'll at least enjoy it more that way, and it'll be less of a pain in the ass for me.
