Who's got it? And if you do have it, isn't it awesome? It's been my gaming addiction for the past 2 days... i've even been playing it at school in the tv lounge when I'm not in classes.

1) Did you try to kill the dinosaur?
2) Fran is hot... bunny ears ftw.
3) Ashe is hot... pink miniskirt ftw.
4) Louisville Cardinals Football rules!!!
 
Yes, I got it and it is everything they have said that it is. Fun fun fun. Its absolutely gorgeous, the fighting system is killer, the license board is a neat little twist, the story is engrossing--and I've only logged about 2 hours! (I can only really play before work so I get up a little extra early.)

My advice: Don't stop playing.
 
I decided to get Guitar Hero 2 before FFXII, sadly. I do really want it, whenever I get enough money, I'll defniately buy it. Looks freaking badass.

So I get to the bruje..the mining place and find out about the zodiac spear from a friend :| To hell with that, the game doesnt even give you hints to what chests your not supposed to open and im not reading a FAQ
 
I got it but haven't started playing, the opening FMV reminds me a lot Star Wars mixed with a bit of LOTR.
 
I'm going to my friends tomorrow to play it, hopefully. I'm excited, the previews seemed really cool.
 
I was gonna get it but im selling my playstation 2 and getting a xbox 360 so I will just have to play it with a friend who has it.
 
I'll have a look at it eventually... replaying FFVIII, again... beginning of the 3rd disc! Need to junction speed to Rhinoa, she can't mug properly... is gay.

Eh, I hated 8, so I am replaying 9..which I don't find much better..but I've never gotten past the first disk, so I'm trying. :(

I couldn't stand 8 either. I mean really, I tried and tried and tried to enjoy it, but it always just pissed me off beyond belief. I really dug 9 though.
 
Not crazy about FF12. I logged 20 hours (leveling is addictive) but the combat and advancement system seems a little shallow. I'm not crazy about the plot and most of the chars either.

I hate how they'll accurately be using old English and then Balthier will drop a stupid-ass B-movie line.

Is the advancement in skills as retarded as 10? Please say no :( That whole sphere grid thing was retarded.

It's kind of like the sphere grid only you don't know where you're going on it (you only see the spaces immediately around the ones you've unlocked - no planning allowed), and there's less of a distinction between your characters. You can easily build them all the exact same way. The only thing that sets them apart is their limit skills :(
 
Bah. Well, I don't know... I thought the junction system sounded gay, but having Squall do around 3k damage per normal hit halfway through the game is pretty fun. I won't bag it until i try it, but it's not sounding the best right now.

FFVIII I like, if only because of the entire concept of Garden. Mobile battle-fortress/schools? WOO! It got a lot weirder the further into the game you got. Time Compression... wtf where they smoking that week.
 
I have been playing for ****in 4 hours and all I have been doing is the ****in clan primer shits... SO ****IN FUN AND ADDICTING I LOVE THE NEW BATTLE SYSTEM!
 
I got lucky early on in the game. I managed to kill Thextera at lvl 3 because I got one of the random multi hit combos when I attacked it.
 
Thextera is easily killable @ lvl 3.. that's when I killed it. The flowering Cactus is a pain though! 1000 needles always gets me!

lol, Flowering cactus is pretty easy. on the right side of that area is a chest that has an aero mote about 50% of the time. use the aero mote and it'll usually take about 40-50% of the cactus's health, so you can use it as a finishing blow.

haha, that's what I did. I sold back Kingdom Hearts 2, Resident Evil 4, and a bunch of dvd's that I'm never gonna watch again....
 
awesome game!
just picked it up today and im lovin every minute of it
too many great things to mention but what i can say is if you're a fan of the series/genre, this is a must have

The hunts are pretty cool, damnit if only I had more time to play this... :|
 
I am about 10 hours in now and have been leveling up at the Lhusu Mines before I go to the estate of the Marquis. Its a great spot to get some seriously quick leveling done and get some great stuff to sell for loads of cash.

I have a couple of questions though:

1. Has anyone seen the huge dinosaur outside Rabanastre? Does like 500 damage in one hit! Has anyone killed him yet?

2. Where the hell is the Cluckatrice for the hunt???

I am at the same point as you are, so far I am having a blast with this game, I love the new "gambits" feature. so cool this game...
 
i saw the dino earlier on but i decided not to battle it because it was passive
didnt realize it was so strong though
might become a hunt later on who knows

Would FF12 be a good first choice in experiencing the FF franchise? I've never been a fan, but the matured story-line has me interested.

Yes--without a doubt. The random battles and turn-based nature of the previous ones might turn off more modern gamers, but the new battle system should make it interesting for just about anyone interested in a deep RPG experience. Not to mention the game has an incredibly huge and detailed amount of content on one measly disc! Incredible job by those Squeenix guys!! :thumbs:
 
What is everybody's hunter level? I have been on Hedgeknight forever... and my score is like 20,000, i've been a hedgeknight ever sicne like 5000.

Rear Guard. How many hunts have you completed? I'll be a Rear Guard until I kill 8 beasties from the list, even though I am over the 20,000 mark by far...

Talk to the old guy in the clan hall for more info on your rank--he's a at the very back of the hall on the upper left ledge sort of. I don't think he moves, but he tells you about how many things you have to kill and how many points you have to have in order to advance to the next rank. Great quests and tough monsters!!! Still gotta find that lousy Cluckatrice!!! Ideas anyone??
